Taking Steps Towards Greater Independence πŸ’™

One of the people we support in our Hull Supported Living service has made fantastic progress since moving into her new home.

After experiencing a difficult period in her life, she joined the household and has adapted remarkably well. She has built positive relationships with both staff and fellow tenants and is known for her cheerful personality, bringing plenty of laughter and positivity to those around her.

A particularly proud achievement has been maintaining her volunteering role. With support from staff, she completed travel training and now independently travels across town each week to volunteer, helping her stay connected to something she enjoys and values.

Her long term goal is to live in her own flat with minimal support, and staff are working closely with her to build the skills and confidence needed to achieve this. By promoting independence in everyday tasks, she continues to grow in confidence and capability week by week.

It's been wonderful to see her progress, determination and positive outlook. We're incredibly proud of everything she has achieved so far and look forward to supporting her on the next steps of her journey.

Finding Creativity, Confidence and a New Routine 🎨✨

One of the people we support in our Hull Supported Living service has recently achieved something amazing. For a number of years, she lacked structure in her daily routine, which affected her motivation, personal care and overall wellbeing. With plenty of encouragement from staff and family, she made the decision to enrol on a local Art & Design college course. 🎨

Since starting college, she has flourished. She now has a daily routine, takes pride in her personal care, and is eating more regularly. Most importantly, she comes home each day excited to share what she's learned, the projects she's been working on, and the new friendships she's made along the way.

It's been wonderful to see her confidence grow, her enthusiasm return, and her social circle expand. We're incredibly proud of everything she has achieved and look forward to seeing what she does next. πŸ™Œ

πŸ₯Š David Steps into the Ring for Autism Plus! πŸ₯Š

Our Training and Educational Manager, David Evans, is taking on an Ultimate White Collar Boxing challenge this November to raise money for Autism Plus.

Over the next eight weeks, David will be training hard before stepping into the ring at Doncaster Racecourse on 21st November to raise funds and awareness for the work we do.

We'll be sharing regular updates on David's journey, training progress and fundraising challenges along the way. There may even be an opportunity to help choose his ring walk song or fighter name! πŸ‘€

Join us in wishing David the best of luck as he prepares for fight night. πŸ’™

🌊🐟 A Seaside Adventure in Skegness πŸ¦–β˜€οΈ

One of the individuals we support in Thorne Supported Living recently enjoyed a trip to Skegness with support from the team.

During the holiday, they visited the museum, aquarium and farm, with the dinosaurs and fish proving to be particular favourites! It was a fantastic opportunity to get out and about, explore new places and enjoy some time away.

A big thank you to the team for helping make the trip such a positive and memorable experience. πŸ’™
