Oyez Oyez…..the wait is nearly over!

Our very own Town Cryer has been out and about spreading the word, catching up with Sarah from Solo, one of our local traders, ahead of the start of the Donaghadee Summer Festival this Saturday 20th June with the RNLI Open Day.
So join us at 11.00 on the Harbour to officially launch the festival.

Volunteer Spotlight – Meet Alan

As we get ready for the Donaghadee Summer Festival, we’d like to shine a spotlight on one of the many volunteers who help make our community events possible.

Alan has been a driving force behind the opening of the lighthouse, helping to bring this special part of Donaghadee’s heritage to life and giving residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy something truly unique at RNLI Open Day this Saturday.

He also gives his time to Donaghadee in Bloom, helping to keep our town looking beautiful and welcoming throughout the year.

Did you know?
Donaghadee’s lighthouse has been an important part of the town’s maritime history, guiding vessels safely into the harbour and standing as one of our most recognisable landmarks.

From preserving our heritage to supporting community projects, Alan’s commitment shows the fantastic community spirit that makes Donaghadee such a special place.

🚨⚓ DONAGHADEE RNLI OPEN DAY – NEXT WEEK! ⚓🚨

Join us for a fantastic day out on the harbour as Donaghadee RNLI Open Day returns next week! 💙

There’ll be something for everyone to enjoy:

🛟 Tour the Lifeboat - open 1pm - 4pm
🚤 Visit the lifeboat station and meet some of the crew.
⚓ Learn more about the RNLI and our lifesaving work
🛍️ Browse a variety of stalls around the harbour
🏰 Take the opportunity to visit the iconic Donaghadee Lighthouse, which will be open to the public thanks to Donaghadee Heritage Preservation Company and Sir Samuel Kelly Project.

Whether you’re a long-time supporter or just looking for a great local day out, we’d love to welcome you along.

Donaghadee Summer Festival Official Launch

Join us at the RNLI Open Day on Saturday 20 June from 11am as we officially launch the Donaghadee Summer Festival!

The launch will be carried out by the Deputy Mayor and the Town Cryer, marking the start of a fantastic summer of community events.

Throughout the lead-up, RNLI crew members have been out and about across Donaghadee meeting residents and local traders, sharing details of the festival and celebrating the strong community spirit in the town.

Royal National Lifeboat Institution volunteers save lives at sea every single day, relying almost entirely on donations and community support to keep their lifesaving services running.

Our Town Cryer was out and about in Donaghadee on Saturday, meeting local businesses, residents and visitors and spreading the word that the Donaghadee Summer Festival starts this Saturday, 20th June!

Did you know? Town Cryers have been announcing important news for hundreds of years, long before newspapers and social media existed. Armed with a bell and a loud voice, they made sure everyone knew what was happening!

Festival brochures should now have landed through your door, so it’s time to start planning. We can’t wait to see the town buzzing with activity over the coming weeks!
