The BARN Animal Rescue is a haven for animals in need. We promote animal welfare within Northern Ireland, we rescue & re-home; we tend and we care. At our rescue based in Carrowdore, County Down; we care for rescued cats and dogs. We also have dogs that have permanent residency and found their forever home here at the BARN. We are also grateful for offers of fostering, volunteering, donations. If you care about animal welfare we’re here �

8 week old male kitten.
This gorgeous boy is looking a loving responsible home where he can grow and play and bring lots of love into his new family.
He has received 1st vaccination and will need his 2nd to complete the course. Neuter will need to be carried out when older. (A voucher for our vet will be provided).
He would benefit from having some feline company for play times.
He could live as indoor only or have some outside access when old enough so wont be rehomed near any busy roads.
Children 6 plus.
Adoption fee will apply.

Meet handsome boy Simba, a three-year-old Shih Tzu who is ready to find the special family he can call his own! 🏡🐶

Simba is a friendly little lad with so much potential to bring happiness, love and companionship into someone’s life. He deserves a home where he can settle in, feel safe and secure, and enjoy all the comforts of family life. ❤️

🧡 Microchipped

🧡 Can potentially live with other dogs, pending a successful meeting.

Simba is looking for an adult-only home where everyone is aged 16 years or older, as he cannot live with children. It is important that his needs are understood and respected so that he can thrive in the right environment.

We would love to find Simba a family who will see what a wonderful companion he could be. In return, you’ll have a lovely little friend to share your days with, give affection to and make memories with for years to come. 🥹❤️

Meet our handsome Ted, an almost three-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who is hoping his forever family is just around the corner! 🐶💙

Just look at this gorgeous girl! 🥹💗

Meet Maisie, the adorable five-month-old Beagle, who is hoping that her forever family is out there waiting for her. 🐶🏡

Maisie is the sweetest little girl who absolutely loves her cuddles and being close to her humans. She has so much love to give and deserves a family who will cherish her, help her grow and show her just how wonderful life can be. ❤️

At just five months old, Maisie is still very much a puppy. This means her new family must be prepared to put time, patience and commitment into all aspects of puppy training, including toilet training, basic commands, lead walking and learning how to be a well-mannered young lady. 🐾

Puppies are adorable, but they also require hard work, consistency and understanding. Maisie needs a family who will guide her through those important early months and help her grow into a happy, confident adult dog. In return, you’ll have a loving companion to share life’s adventures, cosy evenings and plenty of cuddles with! 🥰

🎂 Alsa turns 2 next month… let’s get her home for her birthday! 🎂

Meet Alsa, our big-hearted Central Asian Shepherd girl. She’s spent far too long in kennels, and the only thing on her birthday wish list is a family of her own. 🐾

Alsa is loving and playful, with the best personality. She’s a bit of a cheeky madam who’ll make you laugh every day. She adores people, is great with kids, gets on well with dogs her own size, and has so much love to give. ❤️

The perfect home for Alsa:
✔️ Someone who knows (or is keen to learn about) big guardian breeds
✔️ A secure garden with room for her to stretch her legs
✔️ Time for walks, play and brain games. She’s clever and loves to be kept busy!
✔️ Families welcome, because she loves children
✔️ Another similar-sized dog would be a bonus, but she’d be just as happy being someone’s whole world

She’s vaccinated and microchipped, and she’ll be spayed before she goes to her new home.

💙🐾 BRONX HAS FOUND HIS FOREVER HOME! 🐾💙

Just look at this wonderful update! 🥹❤️

Gorgeous boy Bronx has found his forever home, and we couldn’t be happier seeing him settling into his new life! 🏡💙

Bronx loves playing ball, although he’s still working on the part where he has to bring it back! 😂🎾 Some things are just too much fun to give up!

When he’s not busy playing, he loves nothing more than snuggling up for cuddles in front of the fire. 🔥❤️

Seeing a rescue dog enjoying the comfort, security and love of their own home is what it’s all about. From waiting for his chance to now having a cosy spot by the fire and a family to call his own, Bronx’s new chapter has well and truly begun. 🐾💕

A huge thank you to Bronx’s new family for opening their hearts and home to him. We wish you all a lifetime of love, happiness, cuddles and endless games of ball (even if you do have to chase him for it! 😂).

💙🐾 SKY NEEDS HIS HAPPY ENDING! 🐾💙

Our handsome six-year-old Border Collie, Sky, is still waiting for his forever home, and sadly, kennel life is starting to get him down. 💔

Sky is a nervous and timid boy who is finding life in kennels overwhelming. We desperately want to see him leave kennels behind and finally experience the comfort and security of a home of his own. 🥹❤️

Sky needs an experienced, patient owner who understands nervous dogs and is willing to give him the time, space and reassurance he needs to build his confidence. He won’t blossom overnight, but with the right person by his side, we believe he has so much potential.

Sky is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Children in the home must be aged 15 years or older.

Please don’t overlook Sky because he needs a little extra understanding. He deserves a chance just as much as any other dog, and we would love nothing more than to see him happy again. 💙🏡
