A huge “Thank you” to those that support local youth work across Wiltshire. What you do is amazing and makes a difference. It’s not always appreciated, recognised or understood…….sometimes by the young people themselves or the wider community BUT what you do makes a positive difference and has the ability to transform lives and communities.
We give thanks and pray for all our volunteers who support youth work in their local areas.

Coming up this Summer break 2026

We love supporting this student bible study group in a local secondary school. It was started at the request of students themselves and run by them. Students and staff just meet, read and chat about scripture . Discussions are relaxed, respectful and relevant.
It’s a joy to see and be part of.

Model-building requires focus and patience, plus you need to use creative thinking and follow instructions. It is an excellent way to teach structure as well as enhance cognitive development. This makes it the perfect activity to utilise in youth work!

Steve is a Wiltshire YFC Team Leader & Rural Youth Worker, and he uses model-building as part of his work with vulnerable youth. He has found it to be an effective way to foster creativity and empower the younger generation.

“The feedback from the young people and their families highlighted the enjoyment, positive mental and physical impact it had had… We use it with teenagers as it’s something they have been keen to try as a new hobby and it has enabled development of commitment and sense of achievement. With a wide range of subject matter, model making is a tangible activity that challenges patience and self control. It is not a culture of being the best but one of just trying your best, and to keep on trying.”
