County Assessed DofE Silver Expedition This Weekend
This weekend, a County Assessed Duke of Edinburgh Silver Expedition is taking place. It will involve three days of walking and two nights of camping, all while being self-supported across beautiful Purbeck. There are 11 cadets participating in two teams, all of whom have completed training to prepare for this adventure
The cadets have meticulously planned their routes, ensuring they are well-prepared for any challenges they might encounter along the way. Each team will navigate using maps and compasses, honing their skills in orienteering and teamwork.
In addition to their physical and navigational challenges, the cadets will also focus on developing their leadership and problem-solving abilities. They will be responsible for setting up their own campsites, cooking their meals, and managing their time effectively to meet checkpoints throughout the expedition.
Support staff will be discreetly monitoring the groups to ensure safety while allowing the cadets to demonstrate their independence and decision-making skills.
This expedition is not only a test of endurance but also an opportunity for personal growth and camaraderie, as participants encourage and support one another through the trials and triumphs of their journey.
