We are a youth organisation training people aged between 10-18 a variety of disciplines across the sea cadets training regime. to 70070.

Offering a fantastic cadet experience that inspires young people through fun and adventurous nautical activity to learn and develop new skills that give them a head start in life, and supporting and engaging with our volunteers who are vital to delivering this. We are a stand alone charity and often do fundraising and sponsored events. Anyone can donate to the unit, via Just Giving, by texting PRAA18 £?

🎉 Huge congratulations to our Deputy District Officer on being awarded an MBE!🎉

This well-deserved honour recognises his outstanding service and dedication to the Sea Cadets. His commitment, leadership and support have made a real difference to our organisation and to the young people whose lives are enriched through the Sea Cadets.

🎖️ A ROYAL HONOUR FOR OUR DEPUTY DISTRICT OFFICER! 🎖️

A very proud day for North Wales District as Lieutenant (SCC) J. McDermott MBE, FDsc, RNR, our Deputy District Officer, was formally presented with his MBE today by HRH The Princess Royal, Admiral of the Sea Cadet Corps.

Awarded as part of His Majesty The King's Birthday Honours 2026, the MBE recognises over a decade of outstanding voluntary service and leadership within the Sea Cadet Corps.

Throughout his service, Lt (SCC) McDermott has made a significant contribution to North Wales District and the wider Sea Cadet Corps, supporting cadets, mentoring volunteers and helping to create opportunities for young people.

Speaking about receiving the honour, Lt McDermott said:

“I am deeply honoured and genuinely humbled to have been awarded an MBE. Volunteering with the Sea Cadets has always been about giving young people opportunities, confidence and experiences that help them realise their potential, so to receive recognition in this way is both unexpected and incredibly special.”

On behalf of everyone across North Wales District, we extend our warmest congratulations on this thoroughly deserved recognition.

⚓✈️ Working Together for Remembrance 🌺

This week, we were pleased to be joined by the Air Cadets from 418 - Aberconwy Squadron ATC for an evening of joint parade training as we prepare for this year’s Remembrance commemorations.

It was a brilliant opportunity for both units to come together, sharpen up their drill, practise marching, and get ready to represent their respective cadet forces with pride and respect.

A special moment came when the three Standard Bearers had the chance to practise inside the church, giving them valuable experience of the setting and helping them prepare for their important role on the day. 🌺

There was plenty of hard work, focus and teamwork on display throughout the evening, and it was fantastic to see everyone supporting one another as preparations continue.

A huge well done to all the cadets involved your commitment and effort really showed.

⚓🇬🇧 Trafalgar Night Mess Dinner 🇬🇧⚓

We were delighted to host a Trafalgar Night Mess Dinner, celebrating the proud traditions, history and heritage of the Royal Navy.

It was a fantastic evening of camaraderie, friendship and remembrance, made even more special by the presence of our special guest, Flight Lieutenant Morris from 418 - Aberconwy Squadron ATC.

👏 A massive thank you to all the parents and staff who kindly gave up their time to help serve throughout the evening. Your hard work and support helped make the night a great success, and we really couldn't have done it without you!

🍷 And of course, no Mess Dinner would be complete without the traditional port toasts — although, in true cadet style, Vimto was our port for the evening! 🥂

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a memorable occasion. Events like these are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate tradition, build friendships and honour the legacy of the Battle of Trafalgar

⚓ Trafalgar Day Parade 🇬🇧

A proud moment at our Trafalgar Day Parade as Leading Cadet Norah laid the wreath in remembrance of those who have served, while Leading Junior Cadet Brendan led us in the Sea Cadet Prayer.

Both cadets represented the unit with pride and respect, helping us honour our naval heritage and remember the sacrifices made by those who came before us.

Well done to Leading Cadet Norah and Leading Junior Cadet Brendan for their important roles in this special occasion. 👏⚓

🇬🇧 Honouring a proud naval tradition in London ⚓

Petty Officer Cadet Aleena had the honour of attending the National Trafalgar Day Parade in London, commemorating Admiral Lord Nelson and the historic Battle of Trafalgar.

As part of this special occasion, Aleena laid a wreath at Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square, paying tribute to the courage, leadership and sacrifice of those who served at sea.

A proud and memorable moment, reflecting the values of remembrance, service and dedication that continue to inspire the next generation. Well done, Aleena! 👏🌺

⚓ Trafalgar Day Parade – Llandudno🇬🇧

Our unit was proud to take part in the Trafalgar Day Parade in Llandudno, joining others to commemorate the historic Battle of Trafalgar and celebrate our proud naval heritage.

A special well done to Cadet Neveah, who had the honour of carrying the WRNS Standard, and Cadet Charles, who proudly carried the Unit Standard. Both represented the unit with pride and demonstrated the discipline and commitment of our Cadets.

We were also proud to see Chief Welsh-Wright carrying the Royal British Legion (RBL) Standard, representing the RBL with dignity and respect throughout the parade.

We were delighted to be joined by Lt Commander Crowther, our District Officer, who paraded alongside us and supported the unit on this important occasion.

Well done to everyone who took part and represented the unit so proudly. It was a fantastic day celebrating tradition, remembrance, teamwork and our naval heritage! ⚓👏

🕊️ Remembering Griffith Owen in Conwy

Our Cadets were honoured to attend a remembrance service in Conwy, paying tribute to Griffith Owen, who is laid to rest at St Mary’s Church.

Griffith Owen survived the historic Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, a defining moment in British naval history. It was a privilege for our Cadets to remember his life, reflect on his experiences, and pay their respects to someone connected to such an important chapter in our maritime heritage.

By attending services like this, our Cadets help keep local history alive while demonstrating respect, remembrance and community spirit.

We will remember them. 🕯️
