FREE 6-Week Recovery & Wellbeing Pilot Programme

📅 Starting Tuesday 7th July 2026
🕕 6:00pm – 7:00pm
📍 Darwen

AcuMinds CIC is looking for a small group of participants to join a FREE pilot programme designed to support people recovering from drug and/or alcohol dependency.

The programme will include:

🌱 Weekly NADA group acupuncture
🌱 Peer support
🌱 Wellbeing discussions
🌱 Signposting to additional services
🌱 A safe, welcoming and non-judgemental environment

This pilot programme has been created to explore local need and gather evidence to support future funding applications, helping us continue to offer recovery support within our community.

💷 Free of charge
📅 Every Tuesday for 6 weeks
⚠️ Limited places available

By taking part, you’ll not only receive support for your own wellbeing and recovery journey, but you’ll also help us demonstrate the value of these services within Darwen and support future funding applications.

🌞 Good Morning from Darwen Community Helpers 🌞

As we start a new day, we are reminded that kindness really does make a difference.

On Wednesday, we experienced a wonderful act of kindness from the amazing Agota Nagy at Cinnaworld Bakery, who kindly treated us to some beautiful cinnamon rolls. They were absolutely delicious and brought smiles to so many faces. ❤️

It is gestures like these that remind us how special our community is. A simple act of kindness can brighten someone’s day, lift their spirits, and remind them that they are valued.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Darwen Community Helpers, whether through donations, volunteering, attending our groups, sharing our posts, or simply checking in on one another. Together, we are creating a stronger, kinder community.

Good morning everyone.

What a night. ❤️

Last night, my son and I completed the Race for Life 5K together, and what a special memory that will be for both of us.

It wasn’t the easiest run. The grass made it much tougher than we expected, and after an emotionally draining day, there were moments when I really had to dig deep and keep going. But that’s the thing about life sometimes – you keep putting one foot in front of the other, even when it’s hard.

As someone who is fortunate enough to now be 4 years in remission, taking part in an event that raises money for Cancer Research UK felt incredibly meaningful. It was a chance to give something back and support the vital work that helps so many families.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, supported us, sent messages of encouragement, and cheered us on. Your kindness means more than you know.

To my amazing DCH team, thank you for always being in my corner. Your support, friendship and encouragement helped get me to that finish line.

And to my son, thank you for sharing this experience with me. Running alongside you was my proudest moment of the night. ❤️

Sometimes life isn’t about being the fastest. It’s about showing up, pushing through, and proving to yourself that you can do hard things.
