We would like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Public Health for funding this project and to all our incredible partners for their continued support. We are so grateful to each and every one of you! 💛

And a special thank you to the lovely members of the public who kindly helped me unload everything from the wagon today! You didn’t have to stop and help, but you did, and that is exactly what community spirit is all about! 🥰

A massive thank you once again to the wonderful Kerry from St John Ambulance for providing our Safe Steps Darwen team with even more valuable training this evening! We really cannot thank you enough for your time, knowledge and continued support. ❤️

We can hardly believe that we are now at launch week! 🥹🎉 The next time we see Kerry, we will have completed our very first weekend out supporting our community and will be coming together for our first debrief!

We also want to personally say a HUGE thank you to every single one of our volunteers. Nobody has asked you to give up your time, your evenings or your weekends. You have chosen to do this because you genuinely care about making a difference in our community. And that means more than words can express. ❤️

Mags and I honestly couldn’t be prouder of the incredible team we have brought together! 🥹💛

💛🖤 A wonderful day for our community! 💛🖤

It was an absolute pleasure for our Safe Steps Darwen team to join the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, local councillors and many other wonderful community representatives today for the official opening of the Royal British Legion Poppy Shop in Darwen Market. ❤️

Something that makes me particularly proud is seeing our younger generation getting involved with Safe Steps Darwen.

Although our teenage volunteers won’t be joining us out on the streets until they turn 18, it’s absolutely fantastic to see young people wanting to give something back to their community.

These young people are our future, and we should be encouraging and celebrating their willingness to make a difference. 💛

Volunteering isn’t just about giving your time. It’s about building confidence, developing skills, making friendships and being part of something meaningful.

A huge thank you to everyone involved today for such a warm welcome and for supporting our new initiative.

Together, we can make a real difference! 💛🖤

💛🖤 WHAT AN AMAZING DAY FOR SAFE STEPS DARWEN! 🖤💛

What an incredibly busy and exciting day it has been for our Safe Steps Darwen team!

We are absolutely delighted by the support we have received from Councillor Matt Jackson, Lancashire Police, Blackburn with Darwen Council, Public Health and our local Neighbourhood Policing Team.

A special thank you to Kristina from the Bridgewater and Jason Rothwell from the Artisan for getting behind our initiative. Having local businesses working alongside us means so much! 💛

We also had the pleasure of attending the official opening of the Royal British Legion pop-up shop at Darwen Market, where we met the Mayor, had photographs taken and enjoyed chatting to him about our new nighttime safety initiative. 🇬🇧

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers and everyone who has supported us.

To see an idea that Mags and I had becoming a reality, with so many people getting behind it, is an incredible feeling!

💛🖤 HALLOWEEN WEEKEND, WE ARE READY FOR YOU! 🖤💛

We cannot wait to get out there and support our community!

💛🖤 GOOD MORNING FROM SAFE STEPS DARWEN! 🖤💛

What an exciting morning we have ahead of us! 💛

Today marks another important step forward for Safe Steps Darwen as we come together with officials, local businesses, partner agencies and some of our wonderful new volunteers for a press and photo opportunity ahead of our official launch! 📸

After months of planning, preparation and hard work behind the scenes, it is incredibly exciting to see everything finally coming together.

And we have even more exciting news to share! 🎉

💛🖤 We have received confirmation that our gazebo will be arriving in time for our Halloween weekend launch!

This is such welcome news, as it will provide much-needed shelter for our volunteers and a safe, welcoming space for anyone who may need our help, support or simply somewhere to turn during a night out in Darwen.

📍 COME AND MEET US!

We will be at Darwen Market Square from approximately 9:45am this morning, and we would love to see you!

If you’re out and about, please feel free to come over, say hello, meet some of our new Safe Steps Darwen team and find out more about what we will be doing to support our community during the nighttime economy.

Whether you have questions, would like to get involved or simply want to show your support, you are more than welcome! 💛

Every step forward brings us closer to making a real difference within our town.

We are incredibly proud of how far we have come, and we cannot wait to get started!

Safe Steps Darwen – Here for you when you need us. 💛🖤
