💛🖤 SAFE STEPS DARWEN – WE’RE ALMOST THERE! 🖤💛

I can finally share the update we have been waiting so patiently for…

We have now received official confirmation that our funding will be cleared next week! 🙌

This means we can FINALLY give the go-ahead for our Safe Steps Darwen equipment to be ordered and start turning everything we have worked so hard on into reality.

There has been so much happening behind the scenes to get us to this point. Meetings, planning, paperwork, training, designing, organising volunteers and working alongside our partners to make sure Safe Steps Darwen is ready to provide a safe, supportive place for people during nights out in our town.

At times it has felt like we were so close, yet still waiting for that final piece of the puzzle.

Now it’s happening. 💛

Once our equipment is ordered and we have confirmation of when everything will be ready, we can finally start looking towards that all-important LAUNCH DATE! 🖤

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported this project, believed in what we are trying to achieve and patiently waited alongside us.

And to our incredible volunteers… get ready! 💛🖤

🖤💛 A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR SAFE STEPS DARWEN UNIFORM! 💛🖤

Another little behind-the-scenes look as we get closer and closer to launching Safe Steps Darwen… 👀

Here’s part of our official volunteer uniform!

Our volunteers will be clearly identifiable in their Safe Steps high-visibility vests and branded jackets when they’re out supporting Darwen’s night-time community.

And those jackets are definitely going to be needed! 🥶

Safe Steps will be operating late into the night on Friday and Saturday nights, all year round. That means cold, dark and probably very wet Darwen winter nights too! 🌧️😂

It was really important to us that our volunteers had something that would not only make them easily identifiable, but would also help keep them warm, comfortable and protected from the weather while they’re giving up their time to look after others. 💛

👏 AND A HUGE SHOUT-OUT TO DAN AT DEVOTE ASSOCIATES!

Dan has been absolutely fantastic throughout this whole process. He has been incredibly patient, understanding and supportive, particularly while we’ve been working through everything behind the scenes and waiting for things to progress.

His design work has been fantastic, from taking our ideas and turning them into something that really represents what Safe Steps Darwen is all about.

There has been a lot of back and forth along the way, and Dan has never once made anything feel like too much trouble.

Thank you, Dan. We genuinely appreciate everything you’ve done to help bring Safe Steps Darwen to life. 🖤💛

💛 SAFE STEPS DARWEN – WE’RE NEARLY THERE! 🖤

We know things have been a little quiet on our page recently, but there has been lots happening behind the scenes.

We’re really excited to say that everything that needed to be completed from all sides is now DONE! 🙌

We are now simply waiting for the final go-ahead that will allow us to process the order for our brand-new Safe Steps Darwen safety unit.

Once that order is processed, things will really start moving and we’ll be able to share more about our official launch. 💛

Our volunteers are ready, the planning is in place, and we cannot wait to get out there on Friday and Saturday nights supporting people in Darwen’s night-time community.

Safe Steps Darwen will be a safe, visible place to turn if you’re feeling vulnerable, unwell, unsafe, separated from friends or simply need some support while you’re out.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported this project and helped us get this far. We’re so close now. 🖤💛

💛🖤 HAPPY MONDAY 💛🖤

Here’s your first look at the future home of Safe Steps Darwen.

This is a digital mock-up of the gazebo that will soon become a familiar sight on Friday and Saturday nights in Darwen.

When we’re up and running, this will be a safe and welcoming space where anyone can come for support. Whether you need a bottle of water, basic first aid, somewhere to catch your breath, help contacting a friend or simply someone to talk to, our volunteers will be there to help.

We can’t wait to see this design become a reality and officially launch Safe Steps Darwen.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported this project so far. Every conversation, every share, every volunteer and every organisation backing us has helped bring this vision one step closer.

We’re getting closer and closer to launching Safe Steps Darwen, and before we officially hit the streets, we want as many people as possible to know that we’re here.

Safe Steps Darwen will be out on Friday and Saturday nights, providing a safe and supportive place for anyone who may find themselves vulnerable, unwell, distressed or simply needing a little help during a night out.

💛 Good morning, Darwen. 🖤

We hope everyone who was out enjoying themselves last night had a fantastic evening and, most importantly, got home safely.

As you enjoy a slower Sunday, take a moment to check in with your friends. A simple message asking, “Did you get home okay?” can mean more than you realise.

Looking out for one another doesn’t stop when the night ends. Kindness, friendship and community continue long after the music has stopped.

Have a relaxing Sunday, and remember… the best nights out are the ones where everyone gets home safely.

💛 If you see someone who looks lost, upset or in need of help, don’t be afraid to check they’re okay or let a member of venue staff know.

Good morning everyone. 💛🖤

Last night we held our very first Safe Steps Darwen volunteer meeting, and we just want to say a huge thank you to every single person who came along.

Seeing so many people willing to give up their own Friday and Saturday nights to help keep our community safe was truly inspiring. Your enthusiasm, compassion and commitment reminded us exactly why Safe Steps Darwen was created.

This is just the beginning of something we hope will make a real difference. Together, we’re building a team that will be there for anyone who needs a helping hand, a listening ear or a place of safety during a night out in Darwen.

We still have plenty to do before launch day, but with a team like this behind us, we know we’re heading in the right direction.

Thank you for believing in our vision and for choosing to be part of this journey. We can’t wait to take the next steps together.

Our first Safe Steps Darwen volunteer team meeting takes place this evening at 5:00pm.

This is a great opportunity to meet the team, learn more about the project, and hear about our plans as we move one step closer to launching Safe Steps Darwen.
