💙We’re delighted to have found out that the club has been nominated for the BBC Tees- Make a difference awards under the ‘community group’ category, for our fundraising work with Zoe’s Place this year💛
‘The awards recognise individuals and groups who make life better for people in our communities across Teesside, County Durham and North Yorkshire’
💙OUR NOMINATION;
We have lots of community groups who want to make a difference, but what I found really inspiring about this group is their ages and how they have come together and worked as a team to develop and organise some great fundraisers, and to also think about other children and their families needing specialist support to live life to the fullest.
Since visiting our hospice in February, and handing over an incredible £8,790.20, funds raised from their Christmas charity tractor run 🚜 in December and a raffle held at their 95th anniversary ball 🪩 in November, both of which the group organise, they have now decided they want to reach £10,000.00 by the end of the year, having been so taken with what they saw and the vital care that we provide to babies, children and their families. The group have already organised a Lambing Bingo 🐑 and will be raising further funds at village shows, where they have lots of fun ideas.
It really has been great to watch such a dedicated, thoughtful group work together for the benefit of others.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT;
* The panel of judges will consider all entries and shortlist 32 finalists.
* We’ll be announcing those finalists live on BBC Radio Tees in the summer. 📻
* Finalists will be invited to join us at our BBC Radio Tees Make a Difference Awards ceremony in September.
Keep an ear out on BBC Radio Tees this summer to see if we make the shortlist, and our next event will be our stand at Sedgefield Show 🎪 on Saturday 8th August, so come down and see us, where there’ll be plenty of activities on offer to help us raise the final £1000 we need to hit our £10,000 target for this amazing cause💛
