If you've read your copy of the December newsletter you will know that there is a tradition of villagers decorating the Christmas Tree with baubles that carry messages commemorating loved ones.

This year a tub of baubles has been donated for those who wish to participate but don't have a suitable bauble to hand and these can be found in The Chequers.

The baubles are free but donations to St Teresa's Hospice would be much appreciated and there is a collection tin beside the tub.

The Parish Council would like to thank Richard and Aileen for hosting this Dalton on Tees Parish Council initiative.

It's a week since the Christmas Tree was put up. A very Big Thank You to Bill, Steve and Jack for providing the muscle and experience to transport, place, rope the tree and then sort the electrics for this year's centrepiece.

This year's tree was made possible thanks to the generous contribution from Eric and Denise Londesbrough's family.

The official tree lighting will take place on the 19th at 6.00pm at which villagers will also have the opportunity to commemorate the Londesbroughs and their many contributions to village life.

The December 2025 Dalton on Tees Parish Council Newsletter.

Printed copies will be available in the next day or two, but there are events happening in the village very soon that we'd love to see you at, especially the revival of the village Christmas Concert, in the Village Hall. This year it takes place from 7.00pm on Friday, 19th December. More details to follow.

This edition also celebrates the lives of Eric and Denise Londesbrough who lived almost 40 years in Dalton-on-Tees. Their family have made a significant contribution to this year's Christmas Tree and we celebrate their lives with an official Lighting of the Tree and Star Topping at 6.00pm on the 19th. Again, further information will be posted.

Any questions or comments, please post below.

The Village Christmas Tree is being put in place tomorrow morning (weather permitting). But we could do with a couple of hale and hearty people to help get it down from the top of the lane by The Chequers to the Village Green. If you're free to help please message. There will be bacon sandwiches and coffee :).

15/11/2025

In the mood for cake? Then do make time to visit the Coffee Morning being hosted by Dalton on Tees Village Hall from 10.30am. It's a great opportunity to support both the charity and our Village Hall. And your need for cake!

You will have seen from the newsletter that Guy Foster (The Tree Boy) was booked to work on the three trees on the Village Green today. Unfortunately the weather meant he had to cancel. Guy hopes to do the work tomorrow, Wednesday, 12th November. This post will be updated once we know if he is able to safely do the work.
