We offer free communion/special occasion wear hire to members of our community who would benefit

🎉 NEXT DROP-IN DAY’S FOR 2027 COMMUNIONS 🎉

Friday, 15th January - 3pm till 6.30pm
Saturday, 16th January - 10am till 4pm
St Lucy’s Church Hall, Abronhill

This will allow you to come along and have a look at the beautiful dresses, outfits & accessories I have in stock. And, If you do find that perfect outfit there will be an opportunity to try on & take away the same day.

I would recommend children come in vest tops/leggings/shorts, this means they can easily try dresses/outfits on within the hall if toilet facilities are full.

All we ask is that after your special day all items are returned to us, clean & in the same condition so they can be used again.

If you plan on coming along for either of the drop-in’s, please send a wee PM so we can gauge numbers.

I’m on holiday at the moment, but hoping to confirm a drop off date next month for you all to return outfits. As soon as I have a set date I’ll let you know.

I wanted to encourage to take advantage of this brilliant service and have asked Karen to post this on my behalf...

Like me you may be thinking this is a great idea but it's not for you?

Maybe its because you think your child deserves new?

Perhaps it feels like you are doing them out of a treat if you get it second hand?

Maybe you are thinking there won't be a wide variety to choose from or they'll look cheap or worn ?

Or it could even be because you feel it's unfair or are doing someone else out of an outfit when you can afford to buy new?

I thought ALL of these things but I went along last month anyway and I am now in possession of the most beautiful dress and it just feels great!

Not only have I saved myself £100's of pounds - it is completely free btw - but it also means I can spend that money on celebrating instead.

When you consider that most boys and girls outfits are worn for no more than a few hours it makes total sense to hire and pass it on. I couldn't believe the choice - so many styles and designs - either new or in mint condition (because remember... they have only been worn for a couple of hours 🤣)

But the thing that was such a pleasant surprise was how much Karen and Dyllie put into making it a nice experience for my little girl. It may be a church hall but they made such a fuss of her and we had a lovely time choosing.

So do what works for you and maybe if you still choose to buy new, consider passing your purchase on to this service so that it can be loved and used by another child at their communion ?

You are just asked to pass it back, in ready- to-wear condition plus if your child's school have a day where they come to school in their communion outfit later on, you can hold onto it until then.

Ps. And of course this post is anonymous...I am laughing as I type this because you would NEVER know from looking at the dress that it was loved by someone else first, my daugter doesn't care as she has a dress she loves but I still don't want anyone to know my daughter has a 2nd hand dress 🙃🤭🤣

Just a wee reminder.

This service is for everyone, no referral required. We are just a wee voluntary organisation trying to make every prince & princess feel loved & precious on their special day.

No questions are ever asked & confidentiality is our middle name.

All our outfits are either perfectly pre-loved or brand new. So far we have 100% success rate at being able to supply all our wee ones with all or most of their ‘yes to the dress’ or ‘yes to their suit/kilt’

We never take any payment, but have had the occasional donation to be able to supply underwear,socks etc to those that most need it. All we ask is that any dresses/outfits borrowed are returned clean to be able to be used again 😍
