On Tuesday we welcomed Alison, who entertained us with her fabulous voice and super personality. Alison is a friend of one of our volunteers, who suggested we invited Alison and we certainly weren't disappointed. Alison got us singing, clapping and dancing. It was a wonderful afternoon and we look forward to welcoming Alison again.
We have super events taking place over the next few weeks - young visitors from St Sampson's school, a cream tea, pub lunch, invitations to watch both Cricklade schools' end of year productions and another Techie Coffee Morning. Super duper times ahead!

OPEN DOOR HAS LOTS OF GOODIES - TOYS, JIGSAWS, FABULOUS CUSHIONS, GARDEN TUBS ETC AND OF COURSE - STAR BAKER, CHRIS WILL BE THERE WITH ALL HER CAKES, SCONES, BAKEWELL ETC. COME ALONG, THERE'S COFFEE/TEA TOO.

HAPPY EARLY VALENTINE'S DAY!
We celebrated Valentine's Day today, on 10th February, remembering all our loved ones, family and friends. A super Afternoon Tea was enjoyed by members with a glass of fizz, various sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes and biscuits made by Star Baker Chris and served and cleared up by our wonderful team of volunteers.
We have lots of events on our calendar - a visit from Thames Pre School children, always a delight, then on Monday morning 2nd March we have a Techie Coffee Morning, with experts on hand to help us make the most of our mobile devices - this morning is open to all, members, volunteers and visitors. Once again, we are thrilled to be invited to Cricklade Manor Prep School, to watch their Spring production. We will help with the Litter Pick on 14th March and lunch at Jicsaw Thai Restaurant is also planned for March. Why not come along to the Jenner Hall and find fun, friends and support. Open Door has now finished for a Christmas break - with a flourish! Thank you to everyone who has made this possible - volunteers, members and endless supporters who give financial help and who give prizes for our raffles. Thank you all. Christmas is a time of GIVING and not just presents wrapped up in sparkly paper but GIVING time and support to others and that's the ethos of Open Door. Here are a few photos which show people of all ages GIVING to others at Open Door. On 3rd Dec we enjoyed Cricklade Manor Prep School's Nativity show. On 5th December, the school delivered mince pies and other goodies to many of our members. On 11th December, St Sampson's Years 1 and 2 came and shared their Nativity songs and prose with us and in the afternoon, our Bingo Afternoon enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine from McFarlane's, our local estate agents. On 12th December we had a super lunch at The White Hart Hotel, thank you John, Sam and team, not just for a first class meal but for your GIFT of patience and help. Thursday 18th December was our Christmas party when so many GIFTS of time and talents (Jan F on the keyboard, McFarlane's came with Prosecco! and their help serving and chatting) were given to Open Door. A wee break now and we shall start again on Monday 5th January - COME AND JOIN US FOR 2026.

Open Door has got into the Christmas spirit from the very beginning of December! On Monday December 1st we enjoyed a Christmas Singalong with Sian and Rob, followed by a super duper lunch with Chris's delicious quiches, Wiltshire ham etc and Chris's strawberry meringues, all washed down with glasses of vino (lemonade also on offer!) BIG thanks to Sian and Rob, our volunteers who made the day run smoothly and to our lovely members who sang, clapped, laughed and made the day so enjoyable. Those brave enough, stayed for an hour of seated exercises in the afternoon 😅😅. On Dec 2nd we are making mince pies and on Dec 3rd we will be guests at Cricklade Manor Prep School's Nativity Play. A wonderful start to the Christmas season.

We've had an exciting week with young visitors and also held an Autumn Tea. 75!! young children came with their Autumn songs, hymns and prayers and shared Julia Donaldson's story 'The Stick Man'.
On Tuesday members enjoyed a super Autumn Tea and really appreciated all Chris's baking and the volunteers' hard work. There was a super cheese and wine raffle and lots of glasses of Pimms!
