Welcome to the official RSPCA Oak & Furrows page. We are part of RSPCA North Wiltshire and Newbury District Branch, an independent and self funded branch of the RSPCA. The wildlife rescue centre is open 365 days a year to rehabilitate orphaned, injured or sick British wildlife, with the aim to re-release fit and healthy animals back into the wild. Our work is mostly funded by 10 RPSCA Nor

th Wiltshire and Newbury District Branch charity shops located across the Wiltshire and Newbury District. These shops, and donations from our wonderful supporters, raise funds to keep the centre operating. If you want to volunteer, raise some money or even do a food collection, contact us on [email protected] for advice on how to get involved!

That bag of unwanted items could help save an animal's life.

The clothes you no longer wear. The books you've already read. The toys, homeware or furniture you no longer need.

To you, they may simply be items taking up space.

To an injured hedgehog, a homeless cat, or a vulnerable pet owner struggling to afford veterinary care, they can mean something much more.

Every donation made to our charity shops helps fund vital animal welfare work across North Wiltshire and West Berkshire.

Last year alone, we helped more than 4,000 local animals through rescue, rehabilitation, veterinary treatment, wildlife care, rehoming services, welfare support, call-outs and advice.

We are always grateful for good quality donations, including:
👕 Clothing
👜 Shoes, handbags and accessories
⚡ Working electrical items
🧸 Toys, games and collectables
🏺 Bric-a-brac and homeware

Have larger items to donate? We also offer a free furniture collection service.

As an independent local charity, every pound raised in our shops stays local and helps animals right here in our community. 💚

When Pixie first came into our care, she was pregnant and understandably wary of people, preferring to keep her distance.

She wasn’t sure she could trust anyone but with patience, gentle care, and lots of love from her fosterer, Pixie slowly began to come out of her shell.

She soon gave birth to four healthy kittens and proved to be a wonderful mum, caring for them every step of the way as they grew stronger and more confident.

As the kittens became ready for their forever homes, it was clear that Florence and Felix had formed a very special bond, so we made sure they could begin their next chapter together. 🐾

Once her kittens had flown the nest, it was finally Pixie’s turn to enjoy some well-earned rest and attention of her own - and we’re so pleased to say that she has now found a loving home too.

Stories like Pixie’s are only possible thanks to the kindness of our supporters and dedicated foster carers. If you’d like to find out more about becoming a fosterer, please visit this link 👉 https://bit.ly/3Z0vpGC

⚠️ Wildlife admissions update ⚠️

Due to a recent influx of baby animals, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily restrict admissions until Monday as we are reaching capacity at our wildlife centre.

This decision has been made to ensure we can continue providing the best possible care for the animals currently with us. While we always want to help every animal that needs us, it’s important that we do not stretch our resources beyond what we can safely manage.

Our team is still available on 01793 640136 to offer advice and guidance, however we are unfortunately unable to attend rescues at this time. We will be prioritising the most urgent cases.

If you find a wild animal in need of rescue, please visit https://bit.ly/4nVvPJX to locate alternative wildlife rescues in your area. Animals with open wounds or suspected broken bones should be taken directly to a vet for emergency wildlife first aid.

If you would like to support us during this especially busy period, we are also currently looking for volunteers to join our team. To find out more about available roles, please visit:

Thank you for your understanding and continued support 💚

Since the 1930s we have lost 97% of our wild flower meadows in the UK! 🤯

Meadows which provide essential habitats for pollinators. Why is this important? Because every plant, or crop that we eat, everything, is dependent on this process.

By purchasing these seeds through us, your money goes directly towards helping animals right here in our local community. ❤️

Helping hedgehogs this May! 🦔

Hedgehogs are in decline across the UK, and our gardens are becoming more important than ever for their survival.

As part of , leaving areas of your garden to grow a little longer can make a real difference for hedgehogs.

With natural habitats becoming harder to find, these small visitors are increasingly relying on green spaces close to home.

You might not always see them, but hedgehogs often pass through gardens at night, using the same routes as they search for food! 💚

We recently had out first fox cubs brought into the wildlife centre. 🦊

At a few days old these tiny animals require round the clock care. Weighing just over 100g at admission, they have already grown to three times that.

We are incredibly lucky to have volunteer foster carers looking after them at home to help with the night feeds! As they grow and start taking solids they will return to the centre.

Foxes are a major part of our ecosystem, and these small foxes were found and initially thought to be kittens.

If you see young foxes, please call us for advice as mum could be close by and we will always try and return them if we can. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible for these three beauties.

We first shared these cubs with our email subscribers back in April. If you’d like to be the first to hear updates like this, you can sign up to our emails 👉 https://bit.ly/4deEDXX

🐱Available for Adoption🐱

11 month old Buddy is a young lad looking for an active family that he can spend lots of time with. He is chock full of energy and loves nothing more than playing with his toys!

Ideally Buddy's new home will have someone who is around for a good part of the day, whether that be working from home or home for at least part of the day. We believe he would definitely benefit from having a feline friend who is also active.

Once Buddy has settled in he will need outside access via catflap, so he can have plenty of adventures and tucker himself out. His new home will need to have its own garden and be away from any busy roads.

If you are interested in learning more about Buddy or getting the adoption process started, please visit:
