The RSPCA Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre is situated in the countryside with lovely sea views and surrounded by open fields and woodland, which provide a wonderful location for the rehabilitation and physical enjoyment of the animals. You will find us near Colwyn Bay in Conwy, North Wales, just off the B5113 Llanwrst Road, and a short drive from the A55 coastal road. What we do

We provide specialist

care for domestic and farm animals, and we often treat wildlife before release or transfer to dedicated wildlife centres. We spend a considerable amount of time with our animals getting to know them so that we can assess the kind of home and lifestyle they need. Then, when they are ready, we make every effort to find them a suitable home. Rehoming

At any one time we are caring for over 100 animals at the centre. Our animals are looking for someone to offer them a loving home, to be a friend and look after them. Funding

It costs the RSPCA over £1,300 a day to run Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre. We rely entirely on kind donations from people like you. If you would like to support us, or you have room in your home and in your heart to take on a rescue animal, please pay us a visit. If you would like to contribute in other ways, we also operate a volunteer programme and foster scheme. We look forward to seeing you. Regards

These little piggies are Ginny (top photo) and Georgia. This bonded pair are ready to leave their difficult past behind them and begin their new adventures in a loving home 🏡 These girlies arrived from the same property and are both under 11 months old 🩷

They are searching for an indoor home and would thrive in a section of a room at minimal spacing of 140 x 70cm including plenty of tunnels and hidey homes to explore 🐷

🏡 LOOKING FOR FOREVER HOME 🏡

May we introduce you to our sweet and gentle girl, Zena!

Zena came into our care following a tricky start in life, having been found living in overcrowded conditions with other cats. She is a calm soul, and is ready to find a peaceful home to call her own.

Zena's perfect home looks like:

🐾 A quiet home where she can have outdoor access if she would like to, but she would likely stay indoors most of the time
🐾 Any children to be calm and gentle with cats
🐾 Could potentially have another resident cat in the home, but not necessary
🐾 No dogs

Zena was understandably a worried girl when we first met her, but over a short space of weeks she has shown amazing progress. She adores a fuss (especially a chin scratch!) and is very affectionate once she feels comfortable.

Due to her slightly timid disposition, Zena would be perfect for a quiet, peaceful home. She will need a patient and understanding family, who give her the space and time she needs to continue blossoming into the loving companion she's destined to be.

Zena will also require access to outdoor space if she would like to, and her home will ideally be located away from busy traffic so that she can explore freely without feeling overstimulated or worried.

Janey came into our care after being rescued with multiple other cats, due to concerns for their welfare. It was evident she had experienced little to no interactions with humans but with a bit of TLC, she blossomed in confidence and instantly won over the hearts of her new family! 😍

"Janey has adjusted really well in the first day!
She was absolutely fine with us just cautious of the new spaces when she’d venture out of her room but she would follow us out and comes to us for comfort which is so sweet- very treat motivated!
She’s very curious of each new place she finds but as soon as she has a good look around she’s straight into a bit of mischief haha, so far found window sills, strings for blinds, a bag to hide in and of course knocking a plant pot over with all the soil and looking guilty as anything!
We’ve had the nibbles and it’s when she’s purring lots and being very affectionate- we can tell she means no harm.

Thank you for finding us the sweetest little kitty cat!"

Milo was brought into the RSPCA due to concerns for his welfare 💔 after spending some time at the vets, Milo got the all clear and was ready to start his rehoming journey with us at the centre ❤️‍🩹

This 6 month old Rex loves greens and veggies 🥦he can be nervous around new people but is all a-flop when his known staff members and volunteers come for a fuss 💚

Milo is around 6 months old and is looking for a confident, spayed female companion to hop about with in the future 🐰 the duo would require accommodation of 3 x 2 meters 💚 and plenty of tings to do.

Milo could live in a home with other animals as long as he had a safe and secure space 🐱🐶 he could live with children of 11+

Mumsy arrived into our care after there were concerns for her welfare, alongside many other cats also living at the property.

Mumsy's perfect home looks like:

🐾 Indoors and outdoors access
🐾 Adult-only home
🐾 Potentially live alongside another feline resident
🐾 Preferably no dogs

We think it is likely that Mumsy has relied on other feline companions for confidence and hasn’t had much interaction with humans. For this reason, she can be quite worried and is looking for a patient, experienced owner who can help her develop her confidence at her own pace. Additionally, Mumsy arrived into our care overweight and will need a structured plan to reach a healthy weight once settled. 🥰

Taylor is an affectionate 3 year old cat, who came into our care after being rescued from living in poor conditions, alongside multiple other cats.

Taylor's perfect home looks like:

🐾 No resident dogs

Taylor is a really sweet girl who loves to be around her people. With her loving nature, we are so surprised that she hasn't found her loving home already. She can be a very chatty lady here at the centre so her perfect person will need to be happy to have lots of chirpy conversations. 🥰
