💚 A huge thank you to Trust Me Maybe? for putting on such a wonderful Murder Mystery Evening for us on Friday night.
It was a brilliant evening, and it was lovely to see so many people coming together to have fun while supporting their local hospice. Events like these take a huge amount of time, effort and dedication behind the scenes, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone involved for making it happen.
Thanks to the support of all who attended, an amazing £682 was raised for Great Oaks Hospice, helping us to continue supporting local patients and families when they need us most.
Thank you for your generosity and support – it really does mean so much to us all. 💚🎭🕵️‍♀️

💚🎃 Looking for something spooky to do this Halloween? 🎃💚
Why not take a trip to the Jones Family Lights Halloween Light Show and support two local charities at the same time?
The synchronised Halloween light display will be running on 30th and 31st October from 4pm until 8pm, with Halloween night being the main event. There will be sweets for children who come dressed up and a donation station for anyone who would like to support Great Oaks Hospice and Brody's Trust.

Halloween is coming in just two days.

We will be running a small Halloween synchronised light display for just two days 30-31st October. With our main day on the 31st Halloween it self. Lights will be on from 4pm till 8pm both days. Sweets for everyone dressed up.

Our donation station will be out for anyone wish to donate together this year local charity Brody's Trust and Great Oaks Hospice Events

Remember to come back and see for our Christmas synchronised light display starting on the 23rd November. More details to follow.

We're looking for prizes to help us raise vital funds for Great Oaks Hospice this festive season.

💚 Today we held a very special celebration at Great Oaks Hospice to recognise an incredible milestone – Les Cockle raising an astonishing £101,000 for our hospice through repairing and refurbishing donated bikes, with every penny donated to support our care. 🚲💚
Les and Julie joined us for a lovely afternoon alongside our Trustees, President and Vice President. We were treated to a delicious afternoon tea prepared by Chef Marc Barnett, and it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything they have achieved.
Les was presented with a beautiful cake, complete with a bike on top, created by Foxy's Forest Foods. Julie received a stunning bouquet of flowers donated by BMC Westons Florists, while Les and Julie were also given photographs of our local area by photographer Paul Bennell. A card signed by staff offered our heartfelt thanks for their dedication and support.
We are incredibly grateful to Les and Julie for their hard work, commitment and generosity. The difference they have made to our hospice is truly remarkable.
Thank you also to everyone who has donated or purchased a bike over the years, helping Les raise this incredible amount, and to Roy Sharma for capturing the afternoon with his camera.
Together, you have helped make a real difference to local people and families when they need us most. 💚🚲💚

💚 NEWENT, YOU WERE WONDERFUL! 💚

So many smiling faces, so many footsteps and, behind every one of them, a reason to walk. 💚

As one of the four towns taking part in the Great Oaks Walk, Newent brought together a wonderful group of people, all walking for someone or something close to their hearts.

Some walked in memory of someone special, others in support of loved ones, and many simply because they wanted to make a difference for Great Oaks Hospice. Whatever their reason, every step helped support the care and services the hospice provides to our local community.

And just look at those smiles! 😊

A huge thank you to the fantastic Newent parkrun team, who went above and beyond to make the walk possible. From planning the route and providing marshals to putting on their walking shoes and taking part themselves, their support was invaluable. A brilliant example of local people coming together for a great cause.

Thank you also to everyone who walked, volunteered, donated, sponsored or helped make the day such a success. Your kindness and generosity mean so much.

💚 Our busiest fundraising season is here! 💚
With weekly events now taking place right through until after the New Year, our fundraising events team is entering its busiest and most exciting time of the year.
This Friday sees our Halloween Murder Mystery Evening, and there are still a few spaces available if you'd like to join us for a night of intrigue and fun.
After that, we're straight into our Shopping Day at Teri Chance Boutique, followed by the first of our two popular Christmas Bingo Nights.
Then it's time to kick off the festive season with our Ultimate Pre-Christmas Disco, another bingo evening, and a packed programme of Christmas Parties and Christmas Lunches running right through to 9th January.
Our Christmas Grotto opens at the end of November, alongside our Christmas Market, before we turn back the clock for our 90s Day Disco. From there, it's more Christmas celebrations and our New Year's Eve Party, taking us all the way to our final party night on 9th January.
Every ticket purchased, raffle entered, and event attended helps Great Oaks Hospice continue providing free care and support to over 1,000 patients and families each year.
We'd love to welcome you along. Come and support your local hospice while enjoying some wonderful events with family and friends. 💚

💚 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Music 🎵 Quiz last night in support of Great Oaks Hospice.
Thank you to Bells Hotel for their hospitality, to Pete for generously giving up his time once again to write and host the quiz, and to Maggie, Anne and Roderick for kindly volunteering as our quiz markers. Behind every event there is a huge amount of work that happens behind the scenes, and we simply couldn't do what we do without the dedication and support of our amazing volunteers.
We're also incredibly grateful to Morgan Engineering, based in Coleford for sponsoring the evening and helping to make the event possible.
Congratulations to Teenage Rampage for winning Best Team Name and taking the overall quiz title, with Cheddar Gorgeous finishing a very close second. Well done also to JC/DC for winning the interval quiz.
Every pound raised helps us continue providing care and support to local patients and their families. Thank you to everyone who took part and supported the evening. Your support really does make a difference. 💚
