🚨 POLICE ACTION IN CHINNOR 🚨

Great news for the Chinnor community! Thames Valley Police's Thame Neighbourhood Policing Team has taken action against the recent rise in anti-social off-road motorcycling in Chinnor and the surrounding area.

Thanks to reports from local residents, three suspects have been identified and served with Section 59 notices under the Police Reform Act 2002. This means that if they drive anti-socially on any vehicle over the next 12 months, their vehicle can be seized on the spot.

Police say they remain aware this is an ongoing issue and are encouraging residents to continue reporting incidents β€” especially if you have videos or photos that could help identify offenders.

πŸ“ž To report anti-social behaviour:
β€’ Call Thames Valley Police on 101
β€’ Report online at thamesvalley.police.uk
β€’ In an emergency or if a crime is ongoing β€” call 999

Well done to everyone who reported these incidents. Community action makes a real difference! πŸ‘

πŸ›Ή Chinnor's Brand New Skatepark Opens to Hundreds of Riders! πŸŽ‰

What an incredible day for our community! Chinnor's long-awaited new skatepark at White's Field, off Mill Lane, officially opened on Bank Holiday Monday (May 4th) β€” and it was a spectacular success! 🌟

Hundreds of skaters, scooter riders, BMX enthusiasts and supporters turned out to celebrate the opening, with the village's iconic windmill as a stunning backdrop. The event featured professional demonstrations and competitions for all ages.

The skatepark β€” more than SEVEN YEARS in the planning by Chinnor Parish Council β€” was built by Maverick, specialists in spray concrete skateparks. It received rave reviews from riders near and far:

πŸ—£οΈ Isaac JosΓ©, 2025 European Scooter Champion: "I really liked the skate park. It's been well put together and the community seems really great. I love how smooth the concrete is and the ramps are just the perfect size to learn on."

πŸ—£οΈ Jesse, 16, from Thame: "It's got such a good atmosphere and you've got the windmill right there. It's wonderful to skate on with great transition, an awesome stair set and really good rails. You should really come and try it out!"

A huge thank you to Chinnor Parish Council Chair Maggie Mackenzie, councillors Rich Gray and Sharon Edwards, and everyone who made this dream a reality for our community! πŸ™Œ

πŸ’” Sad News for Our Community – Farewell, Simon Vickers

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Simon Vickers, CEO and a true pillar of Chinnor RFC.

Simon joined the club as a player in the 1980s, captained the side, and never truly left. Over the decades, he transformed Chinnor RFC from a village club into the Championship team it is today β€” a journey built on vision, discipline, and unwavering commitment.

As the club's own statement so beautifully put it: "His fingerprints are on every corner of this club." Simon professionalised operations while preserving the heart of what makes Chinnor RFC so special, and it was under his leadership that the club achieved promotion to the Championship in 2024.

To those who knew him as a leader, he was strategic and relentless. To those who knew him as a former player, he was one of the lads. To all of us in the community, he was a legend.

The outpouring of tributes from clubs, supporters, and friends across the region speaks volumes about the man he was.

Rest in peace, Simon. Chinnor RFC β€” and the whole Chinnor community β€” will honour your legacy. πŸ‰
