As a Sussex based charity, we are proud and delighted to support our communities across West Sussex. Traditionally, the day signifies the Feast day of St Richard of Chichester as patron saint of Sussex, and we do love Chichester.

We operate across the South and into London too, but today is Sussex Day and we know how important it is to recognise the areas we work in, and the people we support.

UKHarvest works with some incredible food producers, organisations and charities across Sussex. Let's celebrate together!

We hope we see some of you at our Community Food Hubs through out the week, across West Sussex. Or maybe your school is hosting a Grub Club, or your community space is hosting a Community Grub Club. You could always pop into our community cafe, Nourish Hub Cafe, in Bognor. Come and say hi to our team and volunteers.

Join Our Team @ Nourish Hub Cafe in Bognor.

We have two volunteer opportunities and hope that you, or someone you know may be looking to support a local charity that is helping feed those in need and reduce food waste.

Front of House Volunteer/Barista
If you have front of house experience, are a dab hand with a coffee machine and love meeting and greeting people, you may be our next Front of House Volunteer. You'll be the first person to greet customers as they come through the door, helping bring people together in our community through budget-friendly food and a warm welcoming environment.

Kitchen Assistant
Working in our kitchen, you'll be supporting our chef and cafe staff to create and deliver delicious budget friendly treats, drinks and meals to the community, ensuring that every plate of food, mug of tea and coffee and piece of cake is served and delivered with care, throught and consideration.

Our Worthing hub is back this month 10:30 - 11:30am on Wednesday 18 June🍓🍅🫑

We have support from a brilliant range of services. There to give advice and support to our wonderful customers will be: Citizen's Advice, Sussex Facilities (LEAP), NourishEd Team UKHarvest, Alzheimer's Society and West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.

Our hubs are warm, welcoming places to enjoy food, have a chat, and access advice and support when you need it - we hope to see you there 💚

The Community Food Hub will be at Worthing's Charmandean Centre from 10:30am-11:30am on Thursday 18 June.

Huge news from UKH HQ!

We are absolutely delighted to share that UKHarvest won 'Outstanding Contribution to the Community' at the Chichester Chamber of Commerce Chichester and Bognor Business Awards.

What an incredible accolade. Everything we do is to support our community, so to win this award and recognition is just amazing.

The real winners of this award are our volunteers. Their dedication and passion to support and deliver so many community focused operations means that we can work within communities to ensure that no good food goes to waste and that no one goes hungry.

Thank you to the Chambers for recognising the work we do, and a huge well done to everyone involved in the evening from winners, those shortlisted, businesses, organisations, charities and independents that attended and are members of the Chambers; we're proud to be part of such an amazing collection of people.

Next Wednesday 17 June our Crawley Community Food Hub is back, offering surplus food to our wonderful customers between 10:30 - 11:30am at Broadfield Community Centre!

Come and get a bag of food if you need it, come and get a bag of food if you are passionate about rescuing food, or just come and pick up a bag of food if you love a bargain!

We are open to all, with a suggested donation of £5 for those that this is affordable for. Just bring a bag and we will see you there! 💚🍎🌽

The Community Food Hub will be at Crawley's Broadfield Community Centre from 10:30am-11:30am on Wednesday 17 June.

Did you know... UKHarvest takes any surplus food that comes through our doors and cannot be rescued to the local biodigester, where it is turned into electricity!

Come and support our charity mission to stop food going in the bin, and let us support you with a lovely bag of fruit, veg, bread and proteins.

We will be at Shoreham Fire Station with the amazing West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service tomorrow 10:30 - 11:30am. Just bring a bag, suggested donation £5, open to all.

We had a fantastic celebration for our volunteers in London on Thursday. It was amazing to see so many friendly and familiar faces throughout the event, welcoming volunteers that have been with us from the start, through to new additions to the team.

“Volunteering is a really good social opportunity!”

People volunteer with UKHarvest for a range of reasons. Many want to give back to the community, some are looking to make new connections, and we welcome so many volunteers who are looking to make a difference in their own lives through volunteer experience and upskilling. Whatever the reason for volunteering at UKHarvest, we want to say a huge thank you to you all.
