We're back! Our annual surplus lunch collaboration with UKHarvest returns on Tuesday 8th September 2026.

After such a successful event at the Selsey community lunch last year, we're thrilled to keep the tradition going for another year.

This year, we'll be at UKHarvest's newly opened Café:
Nourish Café in the Phoenix Centre, Bognor Regis

Our chefs will be preparing a delicious hot lunch, all while tackling food waste and bringing the community together.

We've got two West Sussex recycles Community Food Hubs across the county this week in and .

There are another four hubs in and around Chichester.

We'd love to welcome you to our food hubs where you can take home a bag of surplus food for a suggested donation of £5. There's no means testing, no judgement and no referals needed.

Today marks the start of 2026.

As you all know, we're passionate about supporting households to reduce their food waste at home. So much of what we do stems around making sure that money spent on food doesn't end up being thrown away.

❄ Bread can be frozen and reused later - sliced bread can go straight in the toaster from froze.
🔪Surface mould can be cut of cheese - what's underneath is still great to eat.
🫧 Don't wash your root veg before storing. You don't need to peel them either (but that's for another day).
🥭 Keep soft tropical frut out of the fridge until it has ripened. Once soft, move to the fridge. This can be cut up and frozen to use in smoothies, on yogurts or jams and chutneys. Even if you think it's too soft, freeze and use in a cake batter.

There are so many foods that, if stored correctly, can have a longer life and will get used in your kitchen!

What an amazing summer of cooking, learning and connecting.

The brilliant team at Nourish Hub delivered 2 NOURISHed Cookery Courses during the holidays.

Learning to prepare, cook and store food is an essential life skill.

We're so pleased to be able to work with such inspiring young people, ensuring that they can enjoy great food with the knowledge they got from the course - and had a brilliant time in the process.

It's nearly time for our Annual Community Surplus Lunch at Phoenix Centre Bognor Regis next Tuesday (8th September).
