Such an amazing crowd turned out today and so many dippers to support our local Scout group!

It’s New Year’s Day and that can only mean…The Big Dip!

Come join us…registration from 1130 to dip at 1pm. Fancy Dress all the rage for 2026 too!!!

A few simple tips from our fantastic Safety Crew led by Joe at The Beach Bracklesham Surf Club to help you get the most out of the dip:

• Dress for the cold – wetsuit boots and gloves, plus a neoprene hood or hat can really help
• Take it slow – enter gradually, focus on calm breathing, and remember it’s a dip, not a swim (chest depth only)
• Don't drink alcohol before the dip - it significantly increases the dangers of cold water shock.
• If you need help at any point, raise one arm clearly — our water safety team will be easy to spot in red rash vests.

Wrap up warm straight after, look out for each other, and enjoy the moment.
