End of an era or new beginnings? I think it’s the latter. Here, I’m with Wendy who is taking over the running of the club. Follow her on Neuro Blocks Lego Club for access to the group.

Finishing Equal Strands LEGO Club today feels poignant because it’s seven years to the date we first started up.

Mark and I feel so proud of the club. We’ve set up a space where the only aims are to ‘enjoy yourself’ and ‘feel you belong’.

Ironically, because we never set out to get people to talk or be social, even the most cautious person interacted and communicated to their hearts content. There is something to be said for non-pressure situations we can all learn from.

Mark and I started Equal Strands LEGO Club in October 2019 and after 7 fantastic years we’re now passing the baton to Wendy from Neuro Blocks LEGO Club. Thanks Wendy 🙏

Wendy is carrying on the club; same location and times but more importantly with the same ethos of providing a space for neurodivergent people to enjoy a couple of hours of LEGO (and each others company if they wish).

June’s collection of LEGO builds. It was a calm and productive session.

There’ll be no LEGO Club in July and August. Next session will be on Saturday 19th September.

Word of the May LEGO Club: “pizzazz”.

One of the LEGOteers said he had added a special structure to his freestyle build to give it a bit of pizzazz. Couldn’t agree more!

Everyone else were busy too. Just look at the photos 😁

Next session is Saturday 20th June. There won’t be a LEGO Club in July; we’ll resume building in August.
