This month on Wednesday August 19th at 7.30pm we're planning another AI special on our online meeting.

I’ve recently worked on several significant browser-based apps:

- 360 panoramic drone photo archive app. Replacing an online service with a self-hosted bespoke equivalent.

- ‘Will it fit’? - a factory floorplan designer, allowing a manufacturing of electronics manufacturing equipment to show customers if their products will fit.

- Software language file translation manager, with built-in AI translation. Allows a software company and its resellers to easily manage translation files for multiple software products

Each of the above apps had a working prototype within hours, which previously would have taken weeks or even months, costing thousands.

I’ll be covering the initial ‘chat’ I had with Anthropic’s Claude AI to scope out the project, show how I then asked Claude to generate a prompt to pass to Claude Code, which then wrote the code, as well as showing a tip on how you can make Claude charge you less for the build!

We're hoping to do another AI special on 19th August on our regular online meeting at 7.30pm.

This will show how a complete locally-hosted replacement for an online service was built using AI. We'll go into detail of the prompts used, demonstrating that you don't to have programming skills to write powerful programs. Plus a real 'Scooby Doo' reveal at the end!

Although we don't post on Facebook often, we are still hosting our regular online meetings on the third Wednesday of every month. Simply visit our website and fill in the online form to add your email to the mailing list. A few days before each meeting we email out a synopsis of what might be covered, but nothing is set in stone. If you have questions or problems there is often someone online that is more than willing to help!

This Wednesday from 7pm we’ll be reviewing the brand new RayNeo augmented reality glasses which work with phones, tablets, desktops and even drones, plus exploring ‘vibe coding’ - writing entire applications using AI.

Cheshunt Computer club is one of the oldest such clubs in the UK. Dating back to the early 1980's it is based at the Laura Trott Sports Centre.
