Our Christmas eves have been busy all year long crafting our alternative Christmas Tree at St Thomas' Upshire.
This year's tree is bigger then ever and is made up of blankets. Despite is massive size, it was not big enough to take all of of this years donations, whith 3 sack loads still waiting in the wings. All of which will be donated, with the blankets on the tree to various charities and palliative care units across the UK.
We would never have manged to achieve such a number without the help of some crafting Angels and ours hail not only from our WI, but also from the knitting and crocheting group at the Angel pub. A massive thank you ladies for all you do every year to support our tree.
Also a massive thank you to Kirsty for helping me put up the tree, Enfield Carpet who donated the supporting structure (inner of a carpet roll), Abigail who worked out how to make it all work and the wonderful St Thomas Upshire, who allow us to display our tree each year.
Finally if you are interested in crafting for next years tree (yes we have already started), please pop along to one of our monthly meetings and find me (Kat) or Denise.
