And of course, Poila Boishakh is never complete without authentic Bengali cuisine. We were delighted to enjoy the stupendous dishes from Tomalika’s Rannaghar — every bite added to the joy of the evening and truly brought the flavours of home to Medway.

We did it again — our very first Poila Boishakh celebration in Medway by MOCA, and what a beautiful evening it was.

Here are a few glimpses from last evening.

A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for being part of this special occasion and making it such a grand success. Your presence, enthusiasm, and warmth truly brought the spirit of the New Year to life.

A special note of appreciation to all our performers — your wonderful performances filled the evening with colour, energy, and soul. You made the celebration truly memorable for every one present.

This year, for the first time, MOCA came together to celebrate Saraswati Puja, and we couldn’t have asked for more. 🌼✨

The enthusiasm of MOCA members did made the dream come true.

With little time and many challenges, it was our first attempt—but yes…. Here we are….❤️

A heartfelt thanks to all our members for pushing us and being there throughout the journey. 🙏

It was celebration of togetherness and the joy of being home away from home.

With a willingness and promise to be there every year we ended the day💛🌸

Thankyou TEAM MOCA

🌟 A proud moment for MOCA! 🌟

We’re delighted to share that the MOCA telephone booth has been successfully installed at Chatham Library 📞✨

A huge thank you to Councillor Nina Gurung and Council Leader Vince Maple for giving us the opportunity to showcase our craft, proudly built by our passionate MOCA members during 2025 Durga Puja.

Special thanks to Library Manager for coordinating all the arrangements during the installation at Chatham Library.

Once again, thank you Medway Council for your continued support 🙏

All good things must come to an end, they say…
And so did MOCA’s Durga Puja celebration — four magical days filled with devotion, laughter, and togetherness. 💫

As the beats of the dhaak fade and the lights gently dim, our hearts feel heavy yet full. Bijoya Dashami arrives — the day when Maa Durga returns to Kailash, leaving us with memories that will last until next year. ❤️

We bid her farewell in the traditional way — with vermilion, sweets, and betel leaves — symbols of love, prosperity, and the eternal bond of womanhood. 🌺

Until we meet again, Maa… Aashche bochhor abar hobe! 🙏✨

A Memorable MOCA Puja Celebration in Medway!!!

Councillor Nina Gurung and Vince Maple kindly joined us at this year’s MOCA Durga Puja, and they were truly mesmerised by our efforts to bring together two rich cultures — British and Indian — right in the heart of Medway.

On one side stood the iconic British telephone booth, while on the other echoed the vibrant dance, music, and mantras of Durga Puja — a beautiful symbol of cultural harmony.

The footfall and community participation on a Saturday afternoon were simply exceptional. Both councillors even joined in the fun by taking some “important calls” from our MOCA booth and were so impressed that they proposed to display our telephone booth permanently in the Medway Library! 📞✨

Adding to the joy, Councillor Vince Maple even showcased a few traditional Bengali dance moves to the beat of the Dhaak, joined by the ladies on the dance floor! 💃🥁

This was truly an incredible achievement and recognition for Team MOCA — a celebration of unity, culture, and community spirit! 🙏❤️

On the auspicious occasion of Ashtami, we organized a “Draw As You Like” activity for our little ones — and what a joy it was to witness their creativity come to life! 🎨🌸

Each drawing was a beautiful reflection of their imagination and innocence. Truly heartwarming!

A big thank you to Rupa Di and Mishti Di for taking the initiative to organize this wonderful event. Your efforts brought so many smiles today! 💖✨
