Another hectic & busy day for our YAZOO Drinks U12 girls as 45 girls lined out on Sunday!
Our Shamrocks ran up against a physically imposing & strong Clann na Banna. Every team mirrors their Captain; in that regard Maggie Moffett led us superbly, tackling strongly, pouring all her energy out for the team & driving us on with vigour.
In a game where possession was hard to come by we defended with everything we had. Sarah Allen never took a backward step, fought for everything & played a blinder. No matter where Erinn Scott played today she gave everything for the team, was aggressive on the ball & fought valiantly. Clann na Banna are a very strong team playing Div 1 football all season. Our girls kept going and persevered. The character on display was 1st class. We will go again!
Our Pearses took on a well organised and determined Burren team at Lough Moss. Our Captain, Aoife O Driscoll, played some lovely football, won her ball, was clever in possession & took a great score when we were under pressure. A Captain's performance.
Aisling Rodgers was 1st class too. She found space, worked some lovely ball & banged in 2 great goals. Two stand out performers were Dearbhaile Keenan & Cora Moohan. They won every ball put into them & gave us a platform to get a well deserved victory. A brilliant all round team performance!
Finally, our รgs, the heavy metal football specialists, broke Ardglass hearts this morning. Robyn Carlin was a sublime & energetic leader today. She got stuck in to every tackle, drove the team on & led the younger girls with a warrior spirit.
Willow Davidson was the best player on the pitch & played to a phenomenal standard today. Lile Conlon, Shae Moran, Cliodhna McConville took the fight to Ardglass, notched up some wonderful scores & inspired their teammates.
Ardglass have spent this season playing Div 2 football but had no answers for our รgs, the youngest u12 team in the County. Alexander the Great broke down in tears at 27 as he had no more worlds left to conquer. Alex wouldn't get a run on our รgs!
