This Wednesday, as part of our Sustaining Grassroots Empowerment Project, we met with representatives of Cardiff’s migrant communities to talk about something very real: the barriers people with lived experience of migration face when looking for work.

We met in Bute Park, shared food, sat outside, and had an open, honest conversation — because serious discussions don’t always need a meeting room, a flipchart, or bad coffee.😉

Thank you to everyone who came, shared their thoughts, and brought such warmth to the afternoon. I’m grateful for these voices, these stories, and this growing community.💖

Just two weeks remain until the Welsh parliamentary election.

Over the past four months, the Sustaining Grassroots Empowerment Project team has hosted many sessions focused on democratic processes in Wales, party platforms, election debates and voting processes. We even made up interactive community games inspired by Welsh politics.😉

We’ve made a TikTok reel “Vote at 16” for your teenagers, who trust TikTok creators more than they trust their parents. 😭😭😭It’s that age.

If you still feel that politics is too complicated, that you don’t really understand it, or you’re not even sure whether you have the right to vote, come along.

You can find us this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, from 9am to 4pm, at The Riverside Warehouse. 56 Machen Pl, CF11 6DQ

Do come by for a chat. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be waiting for you.☕️

❗️Final chance to register to vote in the Senedd elections in Wales — 20 April 2026 (by midnight).

If you’re not registered yet, do it now:
https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

It takes no more than 5 minutes, but gives you the right to have a say in the future of the country you live in.

Important: in Wales, you can vote from the age of 16. This is a rare and valuable opportunity. Your vote is not just a mark on a ballot paper — it’s a way to be part of the conversation about what tomorrow should look like.

It’s also a chance for family conversations — to talk with children, teenagers, and each other about what matters: the future, our values, and the world we want to shape.

Let’s use this right. Because the future isn’t something distant — it starts with the choices we make today
