Here we have Jain and Matilda holding a big ol’ cheque for £9,996. We want to say DIOLCH ENFAWR - BIG THANK YOU to the The National Lottery Community Fundfor awarding us this grant (our very first one!). And to New Pathways for partnering up with us to run the first installment of the Perthyn | Belonging Project.

Dyma Jain a Matilda yn dal siec fawr am £9,996. Ni moyn gweud DIOLCH ENFAWR i Gronfa Gymunedol y Loteri Genedlaethol am ddyfarnu'r grant hwn i ni (grant cyntaf thisPlace!). Ac i New Pathways am bartneru gyda ni i redeg rhandaliad cyntaf Prosiect Perthyn.

Perthyn | Belonging is an online, creative, community group for those who have experienced sexual violence. It will be facilitated by trauma informed theatre maker Jain Boon and therapist and dancer Matilda Tonkin Wells who have recently formed thisPlace, a trauma informed dance theatre company.

Mae Prosiect Perthyn yn grŵp creadigol, cymunedol ar-lein ar gyfer pobl sydd wedi cael profiad o thrais rhywiol. Bydd cyfarwyddwyr artisig thisPlace yn rhedeg y sesiynau - Jain Boon (cyfarwyddwraig theatr a Ymarferwraig Somatic Experiencing) a Matilda Tonkin Wells (therapydd ymgorfforedig ac artist dawns).

We have partnered with New Pathways (NP), a leading charity in the field of counselling and advocacy services for anyone who has been affected by r**e or sexual abuse in Wales. Perthyn is aimed at those whose therapy interventions have ended and are looking for a safe space to develop their creativity. The group aims to offer a place for overcoming barriers of shame and stigma and reduce loneliness through nurturing connection with others and building community. We will integrate a range of artistic practices into the sessions. There’ll be lots of play, making, writing, moving and connecting! We’ll also be bringing our expertise in Psychoeducation and trauma informed practices to this group so we’ll be exploring ways that being creative can support our wellbeing and mental health.

Rydym wedi partneru â New Pathways, elusen flaenllaw ym maes gwasanaethau cwnsela ac eiriolaeth i unrhyw un sydd wedi’u heffeithio gan trais neu gam-drin rhywiol yng Nghymru. Mae Perthyn wedi'i anelu at pobl sydd wedi gorffen eu sesiynai therapi ac sy'n chwilio am le diogel i ddatblygu eu creadigrwydd. Nod y grŵp yw cynnig lle i oresgyn rhwystrau stigma a lleihau unigrwydd trwy feithrin cysylltiad ag eraill a meithrin cymuned. Byddwn yn integreiddio lods o ymarferion artistig gwahanol yn y sesiynau. Bydd llawer o chwarae, gwneud, ysgrifennu, symud a chysylltu! Byddwn hefyd yn dod â’n harbenigedd mewn seicoaddysg a drawma i’r grŵp i plethu mewn sut mae bod yn greadigol yn gefnogi ein lles a’n hiechyd meddwl.
