Well done to Charlotte (1st), Ella (2nd) and Henry (3rd), winners of this year’s Rotary Club of Canterbury held in collaboration with Canterbury Christchurch University - pictured here with Lord Mayor of Canterbury who gave out the prizes. Charlotte also won the for Global Health!

Once again it was time for our annual Safari Supper this weekend. Although there were no big cats in sight (unlike our recent Pentangular visit, which we’ll tell you more about soon) there were some smaller cats keeping us company as we visited various Rotarians’ homes for meals. The evening proved a special one for double prize winner, Aruna. All in all, everyone enjoyed a wonderful evening together, with good food, good company and lots of chat. Past President of our club Stephen Thompson and his wife Sue kindly hosted a tea party at their home the other day for members of Canterbury Inner Wheel and the Rotary Club of Canterbury and their partners to raise funds for Kent Sussex Surrey Air Ambulance – Canterbury Inner Wheel’s chosen charity. We were delighted to hear recently from Rhys and Rebekah (“Bex”), the organisers of Canterbury Children’s Literature Festival – which we are proud to support once again this year. It’s always lovely to meet beneficiaries of our donations and hear about the difference made to them.
