💙 This week is an important moment in our calendar: a time to celebrate the lives and achievements of people with learning disabilities. This year’s theme for Learning Disability Week of ‘Do you see me?' asks society to truly see, hear, include and value people with learning disabilities in every part of life.
What does that mean for our café students? And why does it matter?
At the Vineyard Café you may come across Jack, whose confidence and skills since starting here have grown immensely. Jack can now confidently take orders, restock, use the till and serve customers with pride!
You may meet Lizzie, who will happily chat to customers, serve our delicious food and contributes to the running of the café with her happy, positive attitude that is a joy to see!
We know our students thrive in a supportive environment that allows them to build new skills and engage with their local community. So pop in this week for a piece of cake, a delicious meal or try a glass of our own Elham Valley Vineyard wine and see our students in action - showing you just how amazing they are! Meeting any one of our students and supporting our charity is almost guaranteed to put a smile on your face!
