One whole year of Hysteria. 🖤
This time last year, during a phone call on a random Thursday night, I called Kate and said, “let’s do it”. After talking so much about the lack of support for women and the massive health inequalities, our pipedream of setting up something of our own had finally made it out of the chat.
And here we are, a year later, having created something that means so much to us.
We wanted to create something that made looking after yourself feel a little more accessible. Without the pressure, without the expectation, and without feeling like you have to be a certain kind of person to be here.
And I think that’s what I’m most proud of. That we’ve taken an idea we really believed in and started building a little community around it. And it’s growing. 🥹
It hasn’t all been straightforward, and we’re still learning as we go, but we’re taking chances, figuring it out along the way and remembering that we’re just girls at the end of the day.
And to Kate, I’m so grateful we took the leap and started this together. I’m grateful that you believe in all the mad ideas and that we share this vision. But what I’m most grateful for is our friendship. Found whilst supporting others, it now embodies so much of what we’re trying to create ourselves.
Lastly, I want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing individuals behind Hysteria.
It’s not just Kate and I who make these events happen. There are so many inspirational women who have offered advice, read through funding applications, hosted fundraising events and given up more time than they should have to help get us off the ground. You’ve believed in us, come along for the ride and become just as much a part of Hysteria as we are. You know who you are, and we genuinely couldn’t do it without you.
I’m proud of what we’ve started, grateful for everyone who has become part of it, and excited to see where we go from here.
Here’s to the next chapter, and to building our village. 🥳💛
