Our wonderful friends and supporters from Ride to the Wall (RTTW) have just made their largest-ever donation, and every penny will support our work here at the Nation’s year-round place to Remember.

The ‘Wallers’ presented us with this cheque for £171,000 during our Armed Forces Weekend celebrations earlier today, taking their total raised since 2008 to £2 million!

The Waller community is so special, and proof that Remembrance can be expressed and championed in unique and powerful ways.

Since their first fundraising ride to the Armed Forces Memorial eighteen years ago, the RTTW community’s steadfast support has helped care for our inspirational living landscape, ensuring that the incredible stories of service and sacrifice shared here are passed on to future generations.

Thank you so much.

Listen out for the sound of thousands of motorcycles returning on 3 October when RTTW makes this year’s annual pilgrimage to pay tribute to those who can 'no longer ride by our side'.

Sadly, today we received two calls from homeless veterans seeking accommodation. Unfortunately, The Russell Aston Home For Veterans is currently full, meaning we were unable to offer them a place when they needed it most.

This highlights a growing problem. While we work hard to support veterans into independent living, the lack of affordable move-on accommodation means residents often remain with us longer than necessary. Council housing applications can take many months, creating a bottleneck that prevents us from helping more veterans in crisis.

We are urgently seeking affordable one-bedroom flats for veterans ready to move on with their lives. If you are a landlord, housing provider, housing association, or know of suitable accommodation available at reasonable rent, please get in touch.

We are also in desperate need of a second property to expand our accommodation provision and ensure no veteran is turned away due to lack of space. We are actively exploring funding opportunities, but support from property owners, businesses, funders, and the wider community could make a life-changing difference.
No veteran should be left without a safe place to call home.
