What a fabulous day! We went to St Ive to visit The Story of Emily. The staff made us feel so welcome. Very organised and professional and they all had a smile on their face π
A fascinating museum of the life of Emily Hobhouse who we knew nothing about. Turns out she was a trailblazing woman who brought attention to the deprived conditions in the concentration camps in second Boer War and much more. A fabulous guided tour using modern technology at its best, certainly not one of those museums where everything is in a glass case.
We came out feeling slightly stunned at all the knowledge we gained and proud of that Cornish woman who worked so hard to bring about change.
The restaurant provides very tasty South African cuisine- and we can certainly recommend the cakes!
The whole site was clean and tidy, with sparkling accessible toilets. (And we all know that a place is judged on its toilets π)
We were so pleased that we had visited and would thoroughly recommend you visit some time soon.
