Meet Arthur, one of our Spirit of Trevithick grant recipients and an aspiring engineer with exceptional skills in CAD design, CNC machining, 3D printing, and mechanical engineering.

Passionate about automation and manufacturing, Arthur is working to make high-quality CNC technology more accessible and affordable for small businesses and educational settings.

Previous grant funding from Y&TC helped him purchase a CNC mill, enabling him to take on increasingly complex engineering projects alongside his A-level studies. Most recently, Arthur designed and manufactured a critical component for the fisheries protection vessel Saint Piran, taking the project from CAD concept through to precision-machined final production.

We're delighted to support Arthur as he continues to develop innovative engineering solutions and pursue his ambitions in advanced manufacturing.

If you have a passion for STEM, like Arthur, apply for our Spirit of Trevithick Award today and let us help you excel within your field.

🎬 A huge thank you to everyone who supported the special 25th anniversary screenings of Saving Grace at The Regal Cinema Wadebridge as part of the Polzeath Film Festival.

The sell-out charity screenings raised an incredible £1,500 for Young & Talented Cornwall, helping us continue to support talented young people across Cornwall to achieve their potential.

Created, written and produced by Mark Crowdy, the beloved Cornish comedy-drama returned to the big screen 25 years after its original release, with Mark introducing both evenings in person.

Mark said:
“Young & Talented Cornwall provides much-needed funding, encouragement and opportunity for young people across Cornwall, helping to ensure that financial, social and geographical barriers do not stand in the way of potential. I am hugely impressed by what the fund has achieved and delighted to support its work.”

Our sincere thanks to Mark Crowdy, Bill Bartlett and the team behind the Polzeath Film Festival, along with the Williams family at The Regal Cinema Wadebridge, for making these wonderful evenings possible.

One of the most inspiring evenings of the year in Cornwall 🌟

Last night, we joined Young and Talented Cornwall to celebrate the incredible All Talent and Spirit of Trevithick award recipients, with certificates presented by the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall at St Austell Brewery.

As a proud long‑term sponsor, our CEO Jamie Airnes had the honour of attending the event. Huge congratulations to all 46 grant recipients – from dance to mining engineering, the breadth of talent on display was incredible. We can’t wait to see what you go on to achieve next!

We’re incredibly fortunate in Cornwall to have such a wealth of emerging talent, and Young & Talented Cornwall helps ensure that these individuals have the support and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.

What a truly special evening at The Regal Cinema Wadebridge 🎬

26 years after it's first showing, the iconic Cornish classic Saving Grace returned to the big screen as part of the Polzeath Community Film Festival - and we were incredibly grateful to receive half of the tickets proceeds to continue to support Cornwall's young creatives.

A huge thank you to Mark Crowdy, creator and producer of Saving Grace, for this generous opportunity and for his fascinating Q&A. Hearing the stories behind the film, its Cornish roots, and the real-life inspirations made the evening even more memorable.

We’re also so grateful to the event sponsors, Polzeath Walks and Billy’s Beach Art, and to everyone involved in organising such a brilliant evening.

Thank you to everyone for coming along. The evening showcased community, creativity, and Cornwall at its best 💛
