We were busy bees 🐝 at our June monthly meeting!
Graham Smith from Affordable Bee Supplies in Hartington gave us a brilliant 🤩 talk on bees 🐝 and beekeeping. Now we all know that the female bees are the ones who do all the work! 😂 Huge thanks to Graham for coming to talk to us 🙏
We also had a bee 🐝 themed competition judged by Graham. Congratulations 🙌 to Alison and Wendy who won with their marvellous knitted and crocheted bee 🐝 creations!
After tea break our meeting continued …..

⭐️National Federation News
~ The new WI magazine, summer edition, has been issued
⭐️Derbyshire Federation diary dates
~ The Ireta Marriott event planned for 24th June has sadly been cancelled 😞 due to low ticket applications
~ Wed 23rd Sept, Chutney and Cheer at Darley Dale Methodist Church Hall, 10.30 - 2.00. Max 4 tickets per WI, closing date 2nd July (our application for 3 tickets had been sent)
~ Tue 3rd Nov, Autumn 🍂 Celebration at Winding Wheel, Chesterfield, 9.30 - 4.00 pm. Early bird tickets £20. Tickets allocated on a first come first serve basis. We currently have 5 people going.
~ The Denman Grant Roadshow, Sat 17th Oct, Glossop Methodist Church. Workshops on jam making, crafting and digital confidence available during the day, £5 per session. Closing date for applications 15th Aug.
~ Christmas 🎄 at Chatsworth, Wed 9th Dec, includes a 2 course Festive Dinner. Tickets are £55. We need to register our interest by the end of July.

⭐️Harpur Hill WI news
~ Harpur Hill Village Hall Summer Fete, Sat 13th June, 11am to 3pm. Any donations for the cake stall in the day would be greatly appreciated 🙏
~ The date of our monthly Coffee ☕️ Morning at The High Peak Bookstore has been changed to Wed 1st July at 10am because of concerns over traffic at the Hillhead Show.
~ Visit to the Donkey 🫏 Sanctuary, Thu 13th Aug, 6pm followed by a buffet at The Bullshead, Monyash 7pm. Can those going please bring £20 to the July Meeting (£5 donation for the sanctuary and £15 for the buffet)
~ Our 25/26 Charities Christie’s and Ashgate Hospice have received their cheques and we have received certificates from both charities ❤️
~ Our 26/27 charity is Connex in Buxton. We hope that a representative from Connex will come to our Nov meeting to tell us all about the work they do 👍🏻
~ Plans are well underway for our Autumn 🍂 Produce Show, Sat 12th Sept. We would like donations for our tombola to be either green (WI colours) or Purple (suffragettes)
~ If anyone has any old complete packs of standard size playing cards ♦️♥️♠️♣️ can you please bring them in and give to Alison G for a game later in the year. We need 14 packs!
