If you spot a plant, bird, fungus, insect, or any other species during your visit, try using the free to download iNaturalist or Merlin Bird ID apps to identify and record what you find 📱🦉

Every observation helps build a better picture of the species living here. These records are valuable for monitoring biodiversity, understanding how habitats change over time, and helping us make informed conservation decisions.

Buxton's very own showcave, Poole's Cavern & Buxton Country Park, is over 2-million years old, and welcomes around 50,000 visitors per year!

Buxton Civic Association is looking for a Head of Finance & Governance (Finance & Governance Manager) to help lead our environmental and heritage charity into an exciting new chapter.

📍 Poole’s Cavern & Buxton Country Park, Buxton, Derbyshire
⏰ Part-time – 22.5 hours per week (3 days)
📅 Permanent role

You’ll play a key role in:
• Financial leadership & strategic planning
• Governance, compliance & risk management
• Supporting sustainable growth & income generation
• Leading and developing teams
• Helping protect Buxton’s unique heritage and environment

We’re looking for someone with senior finance and operational management experience, strong charity governance knowledge, and a collaborative, proactive approach.
