A huge thank you to Ballynahinch Motor Factors!💛

Gary from Ballynahinch Motor Factors has come up trumps yet again, donating £210 worth of parts for AWARE NI's two cars 🚗

Our cars are used by our facilitators and volunteers to travel to events and activities across Northern Ireland, while also helping us raise awareness of AWARE NI's services wherever they go.

By helping us keep them on the road, Gary is helping us reach more people, promote our support services and challenge the stigma that still surrounds mental health! 🥰

Sometimes the biggest achievement isn't what anyone else can see.

It's getting out of bed when you're exhausted.

It's making it through another day when your thoughts are telling you that you can't.

It's showing up, even when everything feels overwhelming.

Living with a mental illness can take enormous strength.

If that's something you've experienced, take a moment to recognise how far you've come.

And if someone you know is living with mental ill-health, remember that the battles they face aren't always visible.

💛 Be kind.
💛 Be patient.
💛 Keep checking in.

We're so grateful for supporters like Andrea 💛

After seeing first-hand the difference AWARE NI's support has made to her client Erin, Downpatrick solicitor Andrea Reid has chosen to support AWARE NI through a regular donation.

Erin found support for depression through her local AWARE NI group and says the charity changed her life. Andrea has seen the positive difference first-hand.

“Watching Erin regain her confidence and strength has been incredible. The positive change in her has been clear to see, and it's shown me just how important organisations like AWARE NI are.”

Thank you, Andrea, for choosing to support AWARE NI and helping to ensure more people can access free, immediate mental health support when they need it💛

Regular donations help us be there for people when they need us. Your ongoing support helps provide the reliable income we need to keep our free support groups running across Northern Ireland.

THANK YOU, PAUL! 💛

A huge thank you to Paul Esler, who has raised an incredible £1,708 for AWARE NI after taking on a series of gruelling 100+ mile ultra races. 🏃‍♂️

From running 216 miles back-to-back to claiming his first-ever ultra race win, Paul has pushed himself to his limits to raise vital funds for mental health.

Thank you, Paul, to everyone who donated and to your incredible crew for supporting you every step of the way! 🥰

☀️ Comparison can feel especially loud at this time of year.

As you scroll through social media, it can seem like everyone else is having the perfect summer.
The dream holidays.
The sunny days out.
The celebrations.
The smiling photos.

But remember, social media is often a highlight reel – not the full story.

Behind every post is a real person with challenges, worries and struggles you may never see.

If scrolling leaves you feeling like you're falling behind, it might be time to take a step back and remind yourself:
💛 You don't need to compare your life to someone else's highlights.
💛 Your journey is your own.
💛 You are enough.

What’s your reason? 🌊💛

Maybe it’s for your best friend.
Maybe it’s for your wee brother.
Maybe it’s in memory of someone you love.
Maybe it’s to help others feel less alone.
Maybe it’s to challenge yourself.
Or maybe you just fancy doing something a little bit different!

Whatever your reason, come and join us for AWARE NI Sea Splash 💛

On Sunday 13 September, we’ll be taking to the water at Benone Strand to mark World Su***de Prevention Day and bring people together for a morning of cold water, good company and conversations about mental health.

Whether you’re coming with friends, family, colleagues or on your own, there’s a place for you🫶

“I’m not just my diagnosis. Bipolar is not my identity.”

We're sharing real words from people living with bipolar disorder to help challenge stigma and encourage understanding.

A diagnosis can help explain what someone is experiencing, but it does not define who they are.

Every person living with bipolar has their own experience. There is no one typical journey, and no two people experience bipolar in exactly the same way.

If this post resonates with you, or you'd like to learn more about bipolar disorder and the support available, visit aware-ni.org/lets-talk.

If there’s something you want to add with your lived experience of bipolar, comment below or send us a DM. 💛
