We're pleased to share this from Creative Burntwood.

Creative Burntwood has brought more arts and cultural activity to the town, and we've been glad to host some of it here at the Institute. It gives local people more chances to take part in creative work close to home, and this community production is a good example: a show about Burntwood, shaped by people who live here.

If you're interested in local history, theatre, or just want to get involved, the first Research Team meeting is on Thursday 29 October, 2pm to 4pm, at Chase Terrace Community Centre. No experience needed.

Have you got ideas, stories or a passion for Burntwood’s history?
We’d love to hear from you! 👋

As part of the three-year Creative Burntwood project, we’re planning something special — our very own Community Production, celebrating the people, stories and creativity of Burntwood! ✨

Although the production is still a little way off, the planning is already beginning, and we want local people to help shape what it could become. 🛠

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Research Team. You could help us explore ideas, discover local stories, find out what matters to people in Burntwood and begin shaping a production that truly reflects our community. 🤝

You don’t need any previous experience — just curiosity, ideas and an interest in being part of something exciting! 😊

Whether you love theatre, enjoy meeting people, have a passion for local history or simply want to get involved in a creative community project, we’d love to hear from you. 💭

📍First meeting: Thursday 29 October 2026
Time: 2pm – 4pm
Venue: Chase Terrace Community Centre

The next six months look busy for Creative Burntwood, including two shows at Burntwood Memorial Institute.

THIS SUNDAY we have two performances of The Witch Who Couldn't Sleep. At 2:00pm and 4:30pm it's suitable for anyone from 3 years old to 103.

Being a witch is super exciting. There's always so much to do and so much fun to be had. Especially around Halloween. And maybe that's why Natascha The Witch can't sleep... Can anyone, or anything, help her drift off?

Then on MONDAY 15TH MARCH, there's Babies' Adventures in Music. Aimed at children 18 months old and younger, it's a music performance project that is designed to enchant and entertain babies and young children. Audiences describe it as ‘magical’, ‘playful’, and ‘mesmerising ’, and parents are often delighted that the shows are as much for them as for their little ones.

Tickets for both are available from https://creativeburntwood.com

We hope to see you there.
