Last month the Chair of the Sheriff’s Ride Committee, Dr. Daryl Brown, gave a talk to the Three Spires Historic Vehicle Club in Hammerwich. The talk was all about the history of Lichfield becoming a County and how the Sheriff’s Ride evolved and became such an important tradition.

The talk was very well received and club members generously made a £100 donation to Ride funds, many thanks go to them!

This week saw the official launch of the 473rd Sheriff’s Ride!
It was a pleasure to welcome newly appointed Sheriff Andrew Fox, who was on hand to appoint our Junior Sheriff Elsie Biggs. Appointing a junior sheriff is an important part of ensuring that our wonderful and historic traditions are passed on to future generations.
