The team will be hosting a free, practical education session focused on reducing the risk of serious sports lower limb injuries, helping you to stay active, healthy and doing what you love.
It will be held on Thursday 9th July between 6-7.30pm at Llandarcy Sports Academy.
Sports and exercise are fantastic for physical and mental wellbeing — but injuries can have a lasting impact, including:
👉 Time away from sport, school or work
👉 Long recovery periods
👉 Reduced confidence and performance
👉 Ongoing joint problems later in life
But many of these injuries can be prevented. Research shows that simple, targeted warm-ups can reduce serious knee injuries by up to 85% and can even reduce concussion by 60%.
What will the session cover?
✅ How common sports injuries occur (including knee injuries such as ACL)
✅ Why certain groups (including young people and women in sport) are at higher risk
✅ The impact of injuries on long-term health and activity
✅ Introduction to proven injury prevention warm-up programmes
✅ A practical demonstration of simple exercises that can be used in training
