🎄🛒 HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE THIS WINTER! 🛒🎄

Our Tesco Winter Food Collection is taking place at Tesco in Brighouse from Thursday 26 November to Saturday 28 November, and we’re looking for volunteers from our wonderful local community to join us! 💙

The Winter Food Collection is one of the biggest events in our foodbank calendar and is a fantastic opportunity to come together to support local people and families who may be struggling to afford food and essentials this winter.

We’re particularly keen to hear from local community groups and organisations — such as Brighouse Town & District Inner Wheel, Brighouse Ladies Circle, Rotary Club of Brighouse, Brighouse District Scouts Information Page , The Freemasons' Charity, Yorkshire West Riding Freemasons, faith groups, businesses, clubs and societies.

👥 Could you bring a team along? ⏰ Can you spare a couple of hours? ❤️ Would your group like to make a real difference in our community?

Whether you can volunteer for one shift or several, every hour makes a difference. And it’s a great way to get together with your group, meet other local volunteers and support a really important cause.

📅 Thursday 26 – Saturday 28 November
📍 Tesco, Brighouse

Volunteers can choose and sign up for shifts through the “Get Involved – Tesco Winter Food Collection” portal:

Together, we can help make sure local families have the food and essentials they need this winter. 💚

Thank you for helping our community support those who need it most.

We'd like to thank the staff, pupils and parents/carers at Lightcliffe CE Primary for donating their Harvest food items to us this year :) It was lovely to meet representatives of the school council last week, who helped bag up all of their donations and then had an opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the work that we do.

We'd like to thank the people of Clifton for donating their Harvest Festival food collections to us. Both St. John's Primary Academy and St. John's Church have supported us this year, and we really appreciate their kindness and generosity. It was lovely to meet staff and pupils up at the school last week, and members of the church today. Thank you everyone. We couldn't do what we do, without your help.

It was lovely to attend the Harvest Festival at St Joseph's Catholic Primary Academy, Brighouse last week! The picture shows only a small percentage of the donations we received afterwards - my little car was sagging by the time I got to the Foodbank to unload it! Many thanks to the staff, parents/carers and pupils for their kindness and well done to the children who took part in the assembly - their speaking and acting was fantastic

Our Year 3 and Year 4 children led us in a brilliant Harvest Festival this morning . They spoke, acted and sang beautifully and reminded us about the importance of kindness, respect and being thankful for everything we have.

We were also delighted to be able to support Brighouse Central Foodbank with our Harvest Festival donations and would like to say a huge thank you to Rachel for coming and telling us about all of the people our food will help.

Last Friday, we were joined once again by our friends at DWF Law LLP. Six corporate volunteers joined us for the day and in all honesty, they couldn't have chosen a better day! We had lots of harvest festival donations to sort through, plus some shelving to relocate, and as usual, they got stuck in and made a huge difference to us. Thank you to Abi and her team for coming to us once again, we love having you with us and hope you will return next year.

As Harvest Festival season continues, we would like to say thank you to our friends at St John the Baptist Church, Coley, who have donated their harvest festival food collection to us. Also, thank you to the staff, children and parents/carers at St Andrew's Infant School, who have also collected food items for us at their Harvest Festival. We never take these donations for granted and are so grateful for all the support that we are currently receiving, which is coming at a time when we very much need it.

We would like to say a very big 'thank you' to the staff, children and parents/carers at Woodhouse Primary School who have given their Harvest donations to us. These will be put into our food parcels and distributed to people in our community who are really struggling at the moment.
