From today, more volunteers who work with children will be required to have a DBS check.

Previous rules stated that paid workers or volunteers who carry out specific activities with children are exempt from being classed as undertaking ‘regulated activity’ when they are sufficiently supervised by someone else.

But from today, 1st September, the supervision exemption for regulated activity with children is removed.

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Freda Sunter, a founding member of Dudley CVS, at age 102.

Her dedication and service to the voluntary sector touched the lives of many people and left a lasting legacy within our communities.

Dudley borough has now set up a fundraising page to support all those affected by the fires in Stourbridge 👇

Supporting Those Affected by the Stourbridge Wildfire
The response from our community following the Stourbridge wildfire has been incredible.
Many people have contacted us asking how they can help local families affected by the fire. A Crowdfunder page has now been set up to provide a way for residents, businesses and organisations to make a contribution.

We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our neighbours and community with the donations in support of those affected by the horrendous Stourbridge fires.

Thanks to you all, we now have more than enough supplies to support those housed with us, and families affected who are displaced elsewhere. Therefore, we kindly ask you not to bring donations to OSH and instead please consider supporting other local causes.

Our heartfelt thanks to you all, and to Dudley Council and the emergency services personnel for their huge efforts. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected.
