Today marks the start of Learning Disability Week 2026!
Throughout this week, we will be shining a spotlight on one of our projects each day and celebrating the incredible trainees who make them such a success.
We are proud of everything our trainees achieve. Their dedication, enthusiasm, talent, and determination inspire us every day. This week is an opportunity to recognise their achievements, share their stories, and celebrate the positive impact they have within our projects and the wider community.
Please join us in celebrating all of our amazing trainees and the valuable contributions they make. We can't wait to share their journeys with you throughout the week.

Can you help Metal for Good with a little space?

Metal For Good is a national charity based in Stourbridge, which is looking for a little space to develop its work. The charity provides grants to projects across the country that use music to improve mental health, tackle isolation, and create opportunities for young people who need them most.

Since launching in 2022 the charity has supported around 25 projects, supported by an incredible community of music fans, artists, festivals and businesses who believe that heavy music can have a positive impact.

Alongside its fundraising campaigns, Metal for Good sells a range of exclusive merchandise and collects donations of pre-loved band shirts and alternative clothing, which are then resold to raise vital funds for its charitable work. As the charityโ€™s community has grown, so too has the amount of stock it holds, and it is now looking for a secure, dry storage space to help it continue that growth.

If you can't help directly, please share this post so we can reach more people. Thanks!

Meet Avtar and Mohinder Bansal - a volunteering dream team. ๐Ÿ’™

Over the past 13 years, theyโ€™ve dedicated an incredible 6,000 hours supporting patients, visitors and staff at Russells Hall Hospital.

After retiring as driving instructors, they wanted to give something back to the NHS that had helped their family.

Their dedication has also inspired the next generation, with their granddaughter Simran now volunteering in the Emergency Department, and grandchildren Aran, Serena and Rajan also following their example.

Their advice to anyone thinking about volunteering?
โ€œTake the chance. You will not regret it.โ€
