A busy and breezy morning at Charmouth Beach today. There was digging, exploring rock pools, finding crabs and splashing. After snack we made boats from corks, sticks and fabric for sailing in the pools. The morning was finished off with parachute games before heading for home on the minibuses. Many thanks to our parent helpers.

Strawberries and butterflies. For the first year ever we have picked strawberries from the preschool garden before the badger scoffed them. Three pickings so far. Yippee! And the children made butterflies at Forest school on Wednesday - drilling, peeling and threading.
PS Don’t tell the badger.

We spent a perfect day at Cooper’s Circle. The weather was just right, not too hot or too cold and only a brief shower. The children collected leaves and sticks to make flags using hapa zome (leaf bashing on fabric). Pancakes were cooked over the fire for snack and then we explored the hill. After lunch, there was time for Ring a Roses and Farmers in the Den, before trekking back to preschool.

We spent all day at Forest School today. We discovered that our bird box has residents (see video), used the microscope and had baked beans for snack. Lunch was eaten under the shelter and we finished off the day with tug o’ war, duck duck goose and also learned how to play In and Out the Dusty Bluebells.

Learning life skills; using lovely big motor movements and developing physical strength (stretching arms, applying pressure, squeezing the hose attachment). So often children jump in the car because they are going somewhere but when children help to wash a car they take time to really look at the car and to develop an understanding of a car's size, the different parts of a car and what it is made of. This is an important part of developing car and road safety sense.
