Dudmaston Estate NT

Dudmaston Estate NT Dudmaston Hall - an old family home with a surprising collection of Modern Art. Enjoy di**le walks & a stunning formal garden.

(Check web opening hours before visit.) Comer Woods - explore expansive woodland & a programme of activities through the year. Dudmaston Estate is located approximately 3 miles outside of Bridgnorth and, with its late 17th century country mansion, is a fine example of a Shropshire country estate. The Estate covers approximately 3,000 acres, made up of mixed agricultural land; managed woodlands; th

e village of Quatt; Dudmaston Hall; and landscaped garden with beautiful lakeside vistas. Dudmaston has remained in the same family for over 875 years and still remains a family home today. The property holds an extremely important modern art collection assembled by Sir George Labouchere, and the water colour collection of Rachel, Lady Labouchere; Dudmaston's last chatelaine who placed the property into the care of the National Trust.

📚 Can you help us grow our Children's Book Corner at Dudmaston's Second-Hand Bookshop? 📚

Our children's section is looking wonderful, but we'd love to fill the shelves with even more stories, adventures and favourite characters for young readers to discover.

If you have any good-quality children's books that your family has outgrown, we'd be delighted to receive them as donations.

Bring your book donations to Visitor Reception on your next visit. Every book bought, coffee sold and scone scoffed helps us to look after Dudmaston for everyone, for ever, so thank you for your support.

The skies are a bit grey this morning but the rose border at the back of the hall is looking bright and cheery.

Twenty six different varieties, bred by David Austin Roses, bloom brightly throughout the summer months.

Varieties include Gertrude Jekyll, Desdemona and Abraham Darby. When the sun shines, their sweet, summery scent wafts throughout the garden for all to enjoy.

The garden is open Sunday-Thursday from 11am. Admission applies. Free entry for National Trust members.
