President Zelensky met King Charles III at Windsor Castle today.

He thanked the King and the British people for their unwavering support - then left a line worth remembering.

At their very first meeting, Zelensky told the King: "In Britain, the King is an air force pilot. In Ukraine today, every air force pilot is a king."

That was then. Today he came back - and the support hasn't wavered.

Today, AUW organised a Wellbeing Walk across the beautiful Baildon Moor🚶‍♀️

It was a lovely opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, take in the scenery, and get some steps in. Although it was a little breezy, everyone enjoyed the walk and the chance to spend time together outdoors.

Afterwards, we treated ourselves to a well-earned drink 🍺 at the local pub, rounding off a great afternoon.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the walk. Your company made it a wonderful event.

Summer Coffee Morning – Thank You! ☕🍓

Today we held our Summer Coffee Morning at the Ukrainian Community Centre, and what a lovely morning it was!

Everyone enjoyed delicious cakes, toasted teacakes, and fresh strawberries and cream. There was plenty of tea and coffee, lots of friendly chats and laughter, and a wonderful community atmosphere throughout the day.

We also had a great chair aerobics session, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed, followed by a fun game of bingo.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and supported our coffee morning. Your company and support make these events so special.

We look forward to welcoming you all again at our next Coffee Morning in July!

🌞☕ Join Us for a Lovely Summer Coffee Morning! ☕🌞

The AUW Bradford Branch warmly invites everyone to come along for a friendly and relaxing morning at our Summer Time Coffee Morning on Wednesday 3rd June.

Enjoy delicious toasted teacakes, cakes and biscuits, with unlimited tea and coffee, all for just £4 per person. There will also be bingo, a chair workout, and plenty of time for a good chat and laughter with friends old and new.

Whether you come on your own or with friends, you will receive a very warm welcome. We would love to see you there and share a cheerful morning together! 🍓🌼

A Moving Screening of Children in the Fire: Ashes and Crayons

Today, the Association of Ukrainian Women Bradford Branch hosted a screening of Children in the Fire: Ashes and Crayons, a powerful documentary by filmmaker Evgeny Afineevsky.

The film tells the stories of Ukrainian children whose lives have been forever changed by war. Through their experiences, viewers gain a heartbreaking insight into the trauma, loss, and uncertainty faced by young people growing up amid conflict. At the same time, the documentary ,interspersed with drawings ,highlights their extraordinary resilience, courage, and determination to find hope in the darkest of circumstances.

It was a deeply moving and emotional film, and at times very upsetting to watch. The stories shared reminded us of the devastating impact that war continues to have on innocent children and families across Ukraine.

We are grateful to everyone who attended this important screening. By coming together to watch and reflect on these experiences, we help ensure that the voices of Ukraine’s children are heard and that their stories are not forgotten.

Memory is stronger than destruction. Hope is stronger than fear. 🇺🇦
