We’re attending Elderfest Christchurch!

Pop along to Bournemouth ElderFest taking place in Christchurch tomorrow, 27th October 2026. The event is being held at GodFirst Church, Christchurch BH23 3TG from 10am-3pm

Age UK BPED will be among 50 local organisations giving visitors the chance to explore a wide range of services and activities that support older people in leading active, fulfilling lives.

Find out about how we can help you at home, support you with low level Dementia at our Day Centre every week and point you in the direction of other help you may need. We can also chat to you about our activities, pub clubs and Health & Wellbeing classes.

Look out for us in the hall with our large pull up Age UK BPED Banner, have a chat, pick up a leaflet and find out how we can be there for you!

Sign up to take part in gentle seated exercises, gentle yoga, walking groups, pub clubs and day trips. Activities are for those aged 55 and over living in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch & East Dorset, and our classes are designed to support health and wellbeing as you age.

Please note that an enrolment form will be required along with a fit to exercise form (if doing a physical activity) before attending any of our activities. Charges apply with payment required in advance.

Volunteers - we need YOU!

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, and their time, care and kindness mean the world to us and those we support. Even a small time commitment can make a big difference.

We are looking for Volunteers to join us in several of our service areas. Could you help out at our:

• Day Centre
• Memory Clubs
• Health & Wellbeing classes
• Charity shops in Parkstone & Wimborne
• CST Groups

There are also opportunities to become a Befriender and a Passenger Assistant helping our minibus drivers with escorting clients on and off the minibus.

Even just a few hours a week of your time would make a big difference to us and enable us to continue offering the services we do.

Free Wills Month - October

Have you thought about leaving a gift in your Will to Age UK Bournemouth Poole & East Dorset? October is the perfect time to do this as it’s free will month!

Age UK Bournemouth, Poole & East Dorset is a local independent charity who are committed to being there for local older people who need us. If you decide to leave us a gift in your will, you will be supporting us to make life better for older people living in the local area.

Many solicitors throughout the country are taking part in providing a simple will writing or updating service for free this month

It’s important when leaving a legacy in your Will to us that you state that you specifically want this to go to Age UK Bournemouth and our registered charity number 1113294.

International day of Older People- Thursday 1st October! 💙

Join us in celebrating the older people who bring so much knowledge, experience and kindness to our families, neighbourhoods and communities.

We need your help!

Our Age UK BPED Charity Shop in Parkstone, Poole is looking for volunteers.

Can you spare a few hours a week to help in this busy charity shop? Tasks include, sorting, pricing and displaying stock in store, greeting and serving customers, as well as talking about the services we offer and signposting enquiries as appropriate. Full training will be given.

The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to 4pm and is stituated on 247 Ashley Road, Poole, BH14 9DS.

If you love making a difference, interacting with people, have a friendly approachable manner then we’d love to hear from you!
