Hope for Food HOPE FOR FOOD

Is a local organisation based in Bournemouth, set up and run entirely by volunteers.

Local Soup Kitchen, now called Community meals, and Independent Food Bank in Bournemouth where referred families can come and receive food, bedding, clothes and other household items The organization was founded with the aim of providing life's basic essentials on a day to day basis to people in need of help due to the current economic climate. Covid-19 has increased that need dramatically and whi

lst our soup kitchens are now only twice a week, our work to provide for families and individuals in need has never been busier and more important. We have around 150 referrals for food hampers every week, together with toiletries and household items, clothes and white goods when we can. We are an independent charity & do not receive any supplies directly from the donation bins in supermarkets or receive any additional funds by central or local government or food banks. This said all the support we provide in the way of food hampers is via referrals from schools, social services and health care providers. We also aim to try and bring a little happiness back into the lives of people who perhaps, through no fault of their own, find themselves without things most of us take for granted, such as food and shelter. We have a list of foods we keep available. We also have a large range of clothes, shoes and bedding donated by our supporters. If you are in need of our help or know of someone who may need our help, please contact us. Email: [email protected]

So the kids have gone back to school, the days are getting shorter and here at Hope for Food we're about to get very busy after the relative quiet of the summer holidays. If you are organising a Harvest Festival or food collection for a school, community group, club, business, your street or your family this autumn, please bear us in mind as the recipients of your collection. We need any and all of the items shown below and very much appreciate all donations - however big or small.

If your school or club would like a representative from the charity to come and give a presentation we would be more than happy to do so. Please email [email protected]

The poster will be available to download from our website shortly.

A couple of very special thank you’s going out today. Firstly to the lovely Cathy & Ben who dropped off a huge donation from our wonderful friends at Sound of Soul choir who continuously support us in this way as well as fundraising for us. We 🧡you guys.

Huge thanks also to Catherine Midgley who, with the support of Oakdale Runners raised over £306 for us earlier this summer. She then went shopping with the money and dropped of trolley loads off small electrical item that we use to support families moving into permanent accommodation & 150 packets of biscuits! Great work Catherine, thank you so much.

We are supporting SC Clubs with the provision of fresh fruit and snacks for their kids activity clubs this summer - a great project and we’re really happy to be able to help. 🫶

A HUGE thank you to Hope for Food for their incredibly kind donation of healthy snacks for our young people this summer! 😋💙

They kindly provided a fantastic selection of bananas, apples, oranges and cereal bars, helping to make sure our young people have access to nutritious snacks throughout the holiday period. 🍌🍎🍊

We’re incredibly grateful for your support and generosity. It makes a real difference! 💙

Good morning everyone.
Here's an update on the non-food donations we are most in need of right now and the things we can't take. If you have any of these items in good condition that you no longer need we'd be happy to take them off your hands.😊
As you will be aware, we are hugely reliant on public donations of clothes and household items for our families and homeless clients and are extremely grateful for all the support we get. However, there is a limit to the items we can accept as we are extremely restricted on storage space and we have to pay to dispose of items we are unable to use or pass on to other causes. We will publish a list of items we are currently in need of at the beginning of each month and will only be able to accept those items. If you are unsure about an item please call the number below or email [email protected]
Opening times and drop-off points can be found at: https://www.hopeforfood.org.uk/contact-us/
Thank you. 🧡🧡🧡
