Hope for Food HOPE FOR FOOD

Is a local organisation based in Bournemouth, set up and run entirely by volunteers.

Local Soup Kitchen, now called Community meals, and Independent Food Bank in Bournemouth where referred families can come and receive food, bedding, clothes and other household items The organization was founded with the aim of providing life's basic essentials on a day to day basis to people in need of help due to the current economic climate. Covid-19 has increased that need dramatically and whi

lst our soup kitchens are now only twice a week, our work to provide for families and individuals in need has never been busier and more important. We have around 150 referrals for food hampers every week, together with toiletries and household items, clothes and white goods when we can. We are an independent charity & do not receive any supplies directly from the donation bins in supermarkets or receive any additional funds by central or local government or food banks. This said all the support we provide in the way of food hampers is via referrals from schools, social services and health care providers. We also aim to try and bring a little happiness back into the lives of people who perhaps, through no fault of their own, find themselves without things most of us take for granted, such as food and shelter. We have a list of foods we keep available. We also have a large range of clothes, shoes and bedding donated by our supporters. If you are in need of our help or know of someone who may need our help, please contact us. Email: [email protected]

Many thanks today going out to Mike, Shaun, Andy, Graham and family and friends who recently put on a fundraiser for us in memory of their neighbour Geoff Lloyd who passed away last year. He was a strong supporter and advocate of the Charity through Probus. The team raised over £600 - an amazing achievement and very much appreciated by all of us at Hope for Food.

Good afternoon everyone.
Here's an update on the non-food donations we are most in need of right now and the things we can't take. If you have any of these items in good condition that you no longer need we'd be happy to take them off your hands.😊
As you will be aware, we are hugely reliant on public donations of clothes and household items for our families and homeless clients and are extremely grateful for all the support we get. However, there is a limit to the items we can accept as we are extremely restricted on storage space and we have to pay to dispose of items we are unable to use or pass on to other causes. We will publish a list of items we are currently in need of at the beginning of each month and will only be able to accept those items. If you are unsure about an item please call the number below or email [email protected]
Opening times and drop-off points can be found at: https://www.hopeforfood.org.uk/contact-us/
Thank you. 🧡🧡🧡

This week is Volunteers week and we would like to ask you to join us in thanking each and every one of our volunteers for everything they do. For turning up week in week out to cook, and help at community meals, to pack food parcels, sort donations, support our families and keep our unit running smoothly. To collect from supermarkets and businesses and deliver to schools, to fundraise and run events, to do administrative tasks and frankly, take on any of the 101 things that might come up at any time. We have an absolutely amazing team and without their dedication and commitment there would be no Hope for Food.

Thank you ALL so much - you are superstars! 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶

A HUGE THANK YOU...
These two amazing guys, Will & Steve recently completed the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge despite some pretty epic blisters, raising an incredible £2070 for Hope for Food in the process - way over their original target. On top of that, Will's employers Everest Global have agreed to match fund to the sum of $2000 which means the final tally will be around the £3600 mark - thank you so much to them too. This sum will make a huge contribution to our ongoing activities and it's very hard to put into words how much we value such dedicated volunteers and organisations that support us in this way. We are very humbled and very grateful. 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶
