Dorset Cancer Care Foundation Providing financial support to Dorset residents who are experiencing financial hardship due to cancer

The Dorset Cancer Care Foundation provides financial assistance to Dorset residents and their families who are experiencing financial hardship due to cancer. The DCCF also occasionally offers cancer-related financial support to local support groups, organisations, hospitals, and hospices. We do this in the fastest and simplest way possible: The applicant completes an online form outlining their co

ndition and needs. All requests are put to our Board of Trustees every two weeks and a decision is made within 48 hours of submission. DCCF operates on a trust basis and does not request financial evidence from any of our applicants. Awards are granted to successful applicants and monies deposited into their bank account between 2 and 5 weeks of the application being submitted. The Dorset Cancer Care Foundation offers awards to help within the following areas (this is not an exhaustive list):
- Transport and parking costs during treatment
- Overnight accommodation during treatment
- Counselling
- Minor household modifications needed due to illness
- Respite support
- Domestic help needed due to illness
- Care costs
- Food bills
- Financial bills while you are out of work due to cancer
- Specialised items

From cancer patient to four-time Team GB medallist. πŸ’™

Huge congratulations to Bournemouth's Louise Rowland, who has won four silver medals representing Great Britain at the European Dragon Boat Championships.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019, Louise received financial support from the Dorset Cancer Care Foundation during one of the toughest times of her life. Following her recovery, she discovered Dragon Boat Racing, a sport that helped rebuild her strength, confidence and wellbeing.

Just four years later, she stood proudly on the podium wearing Team GB colours, winning silver in every race.

Louise's journey is a powerful reminder that with the right support, hope and determination, incredible things are possible. We are so proud to have played a small part in her story and wish her every success in her future competitions.

Coach House Fitness is taking on the Dorset Plane Pull 2026!

On Monday 31st August, we're swapping barbells for a Boeing 737 as the Coach House Fitness team takes on one of Dorset's most unique fundraising challenges!

We'll be joining forces to pull a Boeing 737 a full 50 metres to raise money for the incredible Dorset Cancer Care Foundation, helping local people and families affected by cancer when they need it most.

This isn't about being the strongestβ€”it's about pulling together for a fantastic local cause.

If you'd like to support us, we'd really appreciate a donation, no matter how big or small. Every pound goes towards helping local families across Dorset.

We'll be sharing plenty of training updates (and probably a few aching legs afterwards! πŸ˜…)

πŸ’™ Please donate if you can. https://www.justgiving.com/page/coach-house-fitness-planepull?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL
πŸ‘ Share this post.
✈️ Let's show what the Coach House Fitness community can do when we pull together.

πŸ’™ The Dorset Cancer Care Foundation ❀️

The Dorset Cancer Care Foundation provides financial assistance to Dorset residents and their families who are experiencing financial hardship due to cancer.

The Dorset Cancer Care Foundation (DCCF) was registered as a charity in 2013 by three nurses, after going through cancer themselves and seeing first-hand how many people struggle financially during their cancer journey. Their mission continues to be to help alleviate the financial burden that can come with cancer, with the sole focus on helping Dorset residents.

As a small local charity, they pride themselves in keeping running costs as low as possible to ensure as much money as possible goes to those who need it most.

πŸ’™ Happy Father's Day πŸ’™

Today we celebrate the incredible fathers, grandfathers and father figures who give so much of themselves every single day. The ones who guide us, support us, encourage us and are always there when we need them most. πŸ‘”πŸ’™

We also take a moment to remember and cherish the memories of those dads who are no longer with us. Their love, strength and wisdom continue to live on in the hearts of the families they helped shape.

Father's Day can be a joyful occasion, but for many families facing illness it can also be a difficult one. If you or someone you love has recently been diagnosed with cancer and is struggling financially, please remember that you are not alone.

At the Dorset Cancer Care Foundation, we are here to support Dorset residents during some of life's toughest moments, whether that's help with mortgage payments, household bills, or transport costs for those vital hospital appointments.
