Happy birthday Wayne!

Wayne started his brass band life when he was 6 years old, on cornet, like so many brass band players do. He then moved to trombone, taking lessons from our current 1st trombone player Trevor Smith when he was aged 12/13. He joined BCB on trombone in 2023.

Wayne also plays in the Boscombe Salvation Army Band, as well as the Kent and Dorset police bands, and takes part in the annual D-Day anniversary at Pegasus Bridge, Normandy, with the massed police bands.

Happy birthday Jason!

Jason joined BCB in 2024 on cornet, and moved to flugel shortly afterwards after expressing he would really like to give it a go! He has previously played with too many bands to name them all, but they include BCB, Bodmin Town, Flowers, Brackley, & Sovereign. He has taken part in the National Finals in every section twice, either playing or conducting.

Jason's trademark sentence at BCB is his "can I make a suggestion?", which pops up during most rehearsals, keeping us all amused, however we very much appreciate his musical input.

Happy belated birthday to Jerry!

Jerry started playing in 1967 at the Blackpool Citadel SA in the YP Band on cornet. He joined BCB in 2022, and has also played for Winton SA, Barclays Bank Brass, Croydon Citadel SA, John Laing Hendon, Oxted Band, Epsom and Ewell Silver Band, Dubai SA Staff Band, and RBL Christchurch.

We had a lovely afternoon at Fisherman's Walk yesterday, many thanks to the Friends of Fishermans Walk for letting us play in their gorgeous bandstand once again.

Thank you to everyone who took part in our tombola, requested a piece, or donated via our collection pots and QR codes. We are now well on our way to funding our trip to the National Finals in York next month, thanks to your generosity.

We hope to see many of you again at our two Last Night of the Proms concerts at The Regent and The Mowlem.
