HERTSMERE BOROUGH COUNCIL : TEMPORARY HOUSING SCANDAL - EDWINTREE COURT UNINHABITABLE HOMES COSTING ÂŁ2.8M

Still no accountability for this absolute “cash cow” disaster, imposed by the Conservative administration on the residents of Crown Road, even after ongoing complaints from them and their then Ward Councillor, Michelle Vince, who petitioned the council on many occasions about ongoing issues, including the length of time this development would take to come to fruition, residents having to endure endless bad language, harassment and voyeurism from contractors who worked on this mindless project, where residents were threatened by the then housing portfolio holder, yet after all this time, there has still been no accountability as to the purchase of these units purchased without any guarantees of worthiness as the contractor ANYCLOUD went bankrupt twice. The question remains unanswered as to whether these units were bought at the full purchase price or whether they were actually “liquidated stock”, the mind boggles that any administration was allowed to construct this absolute disastrous mess in the first place, having a s137 notice that due to power lines and a pylon were on the land, no brick buildings were allowed to be constructed, so how did this situation change the dynamics of the Plsnning Department, which had to amend the plans after they were originally approved due to to maintenance issues, the units being too close to the overhead power lines which caused them to rethink their original design and placed these monstrous structures on the existing boundaries of existing residential properties, without any redress to the residents affected. During the beginning of the COVID pandemic’s, all Oliver Dowden was interested in was residents being put into these units as fast as possible, yet it wasn’t until 7 weeks into the pandemic were residents first allowed to move in, contractors still working on this project and spreading COVID around the area after visit local businesses with no protective equipment or measures in place to protect residents from being exposed to COVID. Where is the accountability, honesty, integrity and transparency from the previous Concerned administration - the same place where it’s always been - at the doorstep of Hertsmere Borough aCouncil and its members plus of course Oliver Dowden MP for Hertsmere who only appears for photo ops and spouting how brilliant the Conservatives are, when these units are now worthless and too expensive to remove - another waste of public monies which councillors couldn’t give a damn about - and they call this progress - since this monstrous project was finished, Ealing Council had now removed all their remaining units like these, after openly admitting they had made a disastrous decision in the first place - never got anything remotely close from the Conservatives and Hertsmere Borough Council , whose Planning Department is now in “Special Measures” - so much for local government authorities, especially Hertsmere Borough Council, which seems to have never learnt it’s lesson about inept planning approval - still now the Planning Department is now on “Special Measures”, things will either get better or decidedly worse - let’s all pray it doesn’t or else our once beautiful village will concreter instead of being surrounded by arable land that has been here since the time of the Doomsday Book - just remember you can eat crops but you can’t eat concrete!!

📢 MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD

This Wednesday at 7.30pm, Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council meets at Fairway Hall, and residents are encouraged to attend and take part in the public participation session.

Several important local issues will be discussed, including:

🌳 Woodcock Hill
Following serious concerns raised by local residents about diggers moving onto the site and the closure of public footpaths, Hertsmere First’s Cllr Graeme Alexander and Cllr Sandra Parnell (conservatives) have worked together to ensure this matter is brought before the Council for discussion.

🏛️ Transfer of Local Assets
At Hertsmere First’s request, councillors will also consider proposals relating to the transfer of assets from Hertsmere Borough Council to Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council. As local government reorganisation progresses and Hertsmere becomes part of a much larger authority, it is vital that our valued local assets remain under local ownership and control wherever possible. Hertsmere First’s Cllr Dan Ozarow will be presenting his extensive research on the exciting possibilities and opportunities ahead.

🗳️ Proposed Deferral of Elections
Councillors will also discuss proposals relating to the future timing of local elections. These were due to be held in May 2027, but proposals are on the table to defer these until May 2028.

Residents will have the opportunity to speak during the public participation session and make their views known directly to councillors.

‼️IT’S OFFICIAL : HERTSMERE BOROUGH COUNCIL HAVE LOST CONTROL OF PLANNING AND NOW HERTSMERE BOROUGH COUNCIL’s PLANNING DEPARTMENT IS NOW IN “SPECIAL MEASURES”‼️

It’s not only a massive “screw up”but is deemed under the Local Government Authority rules and regulations “Gross Misconduct in public office” and all those responsible need to unceremoniously SACKED with no severance package either and those responsible are:
Sajida Bajille - CEO
Robert John Harvey Patterson - Head of Legal Services (under his SRA certificate governed by the Law Society
Jeremy Newmark - Leader of the the current Lib/Lab administration
Nik Oakley - Portfolio Holder for Planning
Chris Myers - “Councillor” for Potters Bar and “Ex Mayor, First Person of Hertsmere

Havinf brought Hertsmere Borough Council “into disrepute” and by their actions which they are jointly and severally responsible for which has caused the Planning Department to be placed into “Special Measures” now governed by the Planning Inspectorate, who at their discretion has the authority to invite every planning application and if they determine that there has been any unlawful “approval” of applications, can advise the Secretary of State (SoS)that any such application should be “Called in/Overturned” being deemed “unlawful”, whereby any development can be considered illegal and the SoS can authorise its demolition with developers being forced to ensure that all land is cleared at their own expense and returned to its natural state, ie “made good”. If the developers are unable to fulfill this Legal Obligation, the company MUST call upon it’s Directors to ensure that all penalties incurred are paid in full with the company being insolvent and placed into the hands of administrators who will look to the Directors to provide all outstanding monies, even if it means personal bankruptcy, as all assets will be deemed by the CPS as “proceeds of crime” and all/any assets will be seized from every Director personally, who also facing hefty fines also face imposed of up to 10 years imprisonment. Any councillors being found to have been corrupted and having benefited personally from “inducements” or are or have been in receipt of any “undue influence” face the same penalties also, without exception, even in the event that they IMMEDIATELY RESIGN or are forcibly removed as their positions are deemed “untenable”, being “unfit for public office”.
