Celebrating Volunteer Week!
Interested in supporting a sustainable local food system for all? Come and join the team! We would love to hear from you if you are considering volunteering. Get in touch and we can have an informal chat and see if we have a role that suits you.

Cegin Teifi is currently recruiting volunteers for the new Community Fridge, which will be based at The Guildhall, Cardigan and opens end of July. The fridge will help to reduce food waste and provide access to free food for everyone in the community. Volunteer roles are varied and there is something to suit everyone, from public facing roles to working from home and being on the advisory committee.

Join us! We'll be foraging last Saturday of the month, from river to castle, in Cilgerran. The workshop last year was very well received, attendees loved the detailed knowledge we were able to share about our local trees and plants. There's nothing that connects you deeper to the natural world around you, that learning some of the complex uses and histories that lie hidden in each flower, leaf and bark.

This is a family-friendly event, and only about a mile, but the path isn't pram suitable. Bring boots, water, a curious mind, and weather-suitable clothes!

Cegin Teifi is currently recruiting volunteers for the new Community Fridge, which will be based at The Guildhall, Cardigan and opens end of July. Volunteer roles are varied and there is something to suit everyone, from public facing roles to working from home and being on the advisory committee.
Roles:
Drivers/Collectors - Collecting surplus food from shops, farms and other outlets.
Fridge Attendants - Weighing in food, checking dates, keeping shelves tidy, helping the public to use the fridge.
Fridge Cleaners - Weekly cleaning of the fridge areas.
Leaflet distribution - Taking printed posters and flyers to your local shop, sharing with friends and neighbours and groups you attend, and/or taking to our list of notice boards and venues.
Social media - An online role that can be done at home, sharing Cegin Teifi posts and events to your networks and community groups and pages.
Gleaning Team - Harvesting apples and surplus crops
Advisory Committee - meetings throughout the year to problem solve and provide fresh insights for the project moving forward.

CGGC CAVO Ceredigion Hubbub

We are very excited to announce that our partnership project with Ein Cegin CIC, Cegin Teifi, has been awarded funding to develop its volunteer programme!
It gives us staff time and resources to make volunteering more accessible to everyone who wants to take part, and offer training and mentoring support.
A huge thanks to everyone who has volunteered and supported the project so far.

Cegin Teifi wins funding bid!

Cegin Teifi is celebrating Volunteer Week (1st - 7th June) with a big announcement.

We are very excited to share the news that the Cegin Teifi community food project has received WCVA Welsh Government funding to develop its volunteer programme over the next two years, making it more accessible to everyone who wants to take part, and offering training and mentoring support!

We will be building a volunteer team around Cegin Teifi to support the meals and the community fridge, with specific roles and training, as well as continuing the more informal pop up opportunities that suit some people better. An advisory committee will be set up, bringing the community together to problem solve and provide fresh insights for the project moving forward.

A huge thanks to everyone who has volunteered and supported the project so far.

Wow what a lush day at Fruit and Nut! We had a plant swap, kids games, a raffle, folk music, and DELICIOUS cakes, and yes, the sunshine showed up for it.
Massive round of applause to all the volunteers who put in a fab effort to make it such a beautiful event. You are the secret sauce to Ffynnon!

Waw, am ddirnod bendigedig yn Frwythau a Chnau! Caethon ni cyfnewid-planhigion, gemau plant, raffl, cerddoriaeth werin, a teisenau BLASUS, ac gyda llawer o heulwen hyfryd.
Diolch o galon i'r gwirfoddolwyr sy'n rhoi llawer o ymdrech i wneud digwyddiad mor spesial. Yr 'sos cynfrinach' yw chi!

HUGE thanks to everyone who helped create the new garden in Ysgol Cilgerran! Diolch ENFAWR i pawb sydd wedi helpu creadu y gardd newydd yn Ysgol Cilgerran! (swipe for full photos)

Fruit bushes, scented flowers, flowering shade trees, herbs, a splendid lawn, and a new performance stage are just SOME of the delights that have gone in this week - and we were blessed with such an awesome crew of helpers on Saturday from the 8 yr olds to the 80 yrs olds. Diolch o galon i'r cymuned Cilgerran 💜it's amazing what we accomplish when we all come together!
