We are very excited to announce that our partnership project with Ein Cegin CIC, Cegin Teifi, has been awarded funding to develop its volunteer programme!
It gives us staff time and resources to make volunteering more accessible to everyone who wants to take part, and offer training and mentoring support.
A huge thanks to everyone who has volunteered and supported the project so far.

Cegin Teifi wins funding bid!

Cegin Teifi is celebrating Volunteer Week (1st - 7th June) with a big announcement.

We are very excited to share the news that the Cegin Teifi community food project has received WCVA Welsh Government funding to develop its volunteer programme over the next two years, making it more accessible to everyone who wants to take part, and offering training and mentoring support!

We will be building a volunteer team around Cegin Teifi to support the meals and the community fridge, with specific roles and training, as well as continuing the more informal pop up opportunities that suit some people better. An advisory committee will be set up, bringing the community together to problem solve and provide fresh insights for the project moving forward.

A huge thanks to everyone who has volunteered and supported the project so far.

Wow what a lush day at Fruit and Nut! We had a plant swap, kids games, a raffle, folk music, and DELICIOUS cakes, and yes, the sunshine showed up for it.
Massive round of applause to all the volunteers who put in a fab effort to make it such a beautiful event. You are the secret sauce to Ffynnon!

Waw, am ddirnod bendigedig yn Frwythau a Chnau! Caethon ni cyfnewid-planhigion, gemau plant, raffl, cerddoriaeth werin, a teisenau BLASUS, ac gyda llawer o heulwen hyfryd.

HUGE thanks to everyone who helped create the new garden in Ysgol Cilgerran! Diolch ENFAWR i pawb sydd wedi helpu creadu y gardd newydd yn Ysgol Cilgerran! (swipe for full photos)

Fruit bushes, scented flowers, flowering shade trees, herbs, a splendid lawn, and a new performance stage are just SOME of the delights that have gone in this week - and we were blessed with such an awesome crew of helpers on Saturday from the 8 yr olds to the 80 yrs olds. Diolch o galon i'r cymuned Cilgerran 💜it's amazing what we accomplish when we all come together!
We at Ffynnon hope the new garden will help inspire a whole generation of kids to love nature and growing things 🔥🌱

🌱 ALL HANDS ON DECK! Let’s build our school garden.

This Saturday, we are building the school garden from the ground up, and we can't do it without you. Whether you're a DIY pro or just good with a shovel, we need your help to make this happen for the kids!

The Plan: Moving soil, benches and getting the first plants in the ground.

When: This Saturday, 9th May Time: 10am – 4pm.
Where: Ysgol Cilgerran
Bonus: Refreshments provided to keep the engine running! ☕

What does food resilience look like? What should we grow more of locally? Who needs to take part? How do we collaborate?

We’re aiming to tackle (not necessarily answer!) some of those massive questions while building our new community farm! Ffynnon supporters have offered the use of 70 acres of land just south of Cilgerran. We’re (provisionally) calling it “Tir y Ffynnon” (Spring Land) after one of the old field names, “Llain Tir Y Ffynnon” (Spring Line Land). That’s a watery spring not the season. Os oes unrhyw un yn well at y Gymraeg na fi, dwedwch wrtha’i os dwy’n gwneud camgymeriad gyda’r iaith!

We’ve got lots of plans afoot to support and rejuvenate the ecosystems on the land, hand-in-hand with helping people start producing food to feed their community, but it's all very early days and we're looking forward to involving as many people as possible in the conversation. We’ll be running the Ffynnon Farmstart mainly on the new site, providing access to land, training and support for people to start food producing businesses, but beyond that, there's so much scope for innovation.

Home ed Oakwise taster days.. 10- 15 yr olds

Tuesdays 12.30 - 2.30pm.

We will gather at the Field of Beans to sit around a fire to learn and develop traditional bushcraft skills.

Adults welcome to stay or drop off for these initial sessions as the young people decide if it's something they'd like to commit to in September.

Sessions cost £10 per learner for 2 hours, booking online essential.
