Our River – 2nd Annual Festival Saturday June 13th - a Family Day out.
We are really pleased to announce that the second Haverfordwest River Festival will take place on Saturday 13th June — and this year it is growing right across the riverside through town.
What started last year as a volunteer-run community event on Quayside is now stretching from the Old Bridge through Western Quay, behind Haverhub and down towards The Bristol Trader end of the river.
The festival came out of conversations at the Haverfordwest Action Forum meetings at Haverhub last year, where many people said they wanted to see more town events that bring people together, support local businesses and creatives, and celebrate what is special about Haverfordwest.
So this is part of that bigger picture.
Across the day there will be local stalls, food, music, family activities, free art sessions, History walks, Carla’s Farmers Market, community groups, river activities and environmental projects — plus the return of Paddle West, the Waldo charity duck race, live music on the quay and the arrival of the Dale to Haverfordwest Longboat rowers on the high tide.
Sense of Place & Purpose: Importantly, the festival is also about raising awareness that our river is precious and needs all of us — with the Citizen Science Hub and local river groups returning to share their work and enthusiasm with visitors of all ages.
We are now looking for additional local performers, musicians, activity providers, clubs, groups, tutors, stalls and independent businesses who would like to take part.
