🏆 WE’VE ONLY GONE AND WON IT! 🏆

A brilliant day at the West Wales Brass Band Association contest, and we’re absolutely delighted to be heading home with 1st place! 🥇

A huge congratulations to our very own Matt Rowe, who picked up the Best Soloist prize, and to our MD Gary Davies, who was awarded the Melville Jones Trophy for the winning conductor!

Thank you to the West Wales Association and Gwaun Cae Gurwen Band for organising a brilliant day, and congratulations to all the other bands who took part.

We’re incredibly proud of all our members. A fantastic result and a brilliant day of banding! 💙🎶

We had a fantastic day yesterday at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain in York, representing Wales on the national stage. 💙

We didn’t quite find favour in the box finishing 14th, but we’re incredibly proud of our performance and of everything we’ve achieved together on our road to York.

Congratulations to Harborough Band, Lanner and District Silver Band and Jersey Premier Brass for their top three finishes, and well done to every band that took to the stage.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way, it has meant so much to us. And now a well deserved week off for us!

A little Welsh hymn for us in an early morning rehearsal. Good luck to all the bands taking to the stage at the National Finals today.

Enjoy the day, everyone!

Our last home town rehearsal. 🎺

Tonight was our final rehearsal before we head to York for the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

One last evening together in the bandroom before the cases are packed and we hit the road.

York awaits. 💙

We’re always appreciative of the hard work of our secretary Helen Simmonds and all the members of our band and committee who helped us organise and fundraise for National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain York including Rhianydd Prosser and Rhian Hills-Moss! Really looking forward to the contest on Saturday!
